Wow! Last Saturday night I ended up at THE place to be. -- with a date who had clearly done his homework (major bonus points)! The candlelit atmosphere was busy and fun. Perfect for a pre-party dinner! What a charming spot! A welcome mid-level restaurant in Nolita -- a neighborhood formerly exclusively home to cafes and higher end fair. Great drinks. Great eats. Great fun. Moderate prices. The cocktail list is unbeatable anywhere in the city. Our server was hip, funny, friendly, and had an impressive command over the bustlng restaurant! The slight wait was worth every minute! Judging from the suave crowd sucking down cocktails at the bar, Barmarche proves that Nolita is the next hot 'hood for fierce foodies like myself. Shhhhh! Let's keep it a secret! Princess Ella!

I have been to Barmarche many times. I was there on Friday evening with friends and had an unpleasant experience. Our waiter was so rude, even more rude than usual! We sat in the corner table right under the air con/heater. After being served our drinks, the restaurant decided to turn the heater on and the hot air was blowing right in our faces making it a very uncomfortable dining experience. It was not even that cold in the restaurant that night. We asked our waiter if he can turn off the heater or lower it. Instead of accommodating us, he immediately put on an attitude. He started to argue with us and his exact words were "Well you can sit there and argue with me or I can move you to another table." We were shocked by his comment because we had asked him nicely. He repeated his comment a few more times. We were tempted to leave, but decided to stay and finish our meal. Needless to say, his tip was very low and we will not go back again.

An excellent choice out of the millions to choose from in the big city. Ambiance, Unique, and one of a kind. Loved it.

Excellent evening! Great atmosphere and service and one of the best cocktail lists i have seen in a long time. What makes me happiest, as a lower east sider, is that they serve food until 2am - and their hamburgers and garlic frites always hits the spot. Never again will i have to go all the way to the west side (blue ribbon, etc) to get some nourishment after a night of drinkning!

Great environment, somewhat of a romantic setting. The staff was very friendly and accommodating- they moved us to a more desirable table when it opened up and didn't mind at all when we asked. Menu is filled with very inventive food and drinks. All of the drinks were creative, but try the Brazilian Sangria- it's amazing.

I went to barmarche the other night with a date and found it to be stylish and casual with friendly and attentive service, great ambience, and simple but tasty food. We especially liked the shrimp pizzetta, the tuna tartar and the tuna special. Great place for a date and probably would be fun for a large group. Will definitely go back.

I had heard good things about the place so I went there with a bunch of friends. The setup is quite nice and we had a good table, though there is no A/C which is tough in the warm month of july. They eventually forgot our order of gazpacho, even though we inquired after it twice... Then the burger we ordered with swiss cheese and guacamole came with only a reddish cheese. We asked the waiter about the guacamole and also if this was supposed to be swiss cheese ... he told us the guacamole was his bad but that it really was swiss cheese. I guess we must have looked puzzled because he went back to the kitchen and then apologized for the mistake--of course it was not swiss cheese. We told him that he could cancel the gazpacho at that point... Unfortunately for us, though, the guacamole that he brought us was not very good. An overall unpleasant dining experience.
