Awesome brunch
We just moved to the area and so I decided to bring my wife for brunch for the 1st time. It was busy as it was Sunday late morning, but we were seated immediately. The food was great, considering we had eggs. Definately worth going back.

Couldn't be happier
I went at the Barking Dog with my family celebrating my son's 5th birthday. We sat at the oval table in the back. The food was out in less than ten minutes after we ordered and it tasted delicious and fresh. I had the sirloin steak and my wife had the scallops, mac and cheese for the kids as well as buffalo wings, chicken fingers, toasted ravioli and their cake, chocolate moose cake, a killer cake. It was a great experience and we're deffinitely going back. The service was excellent. The owner came by to wish my son a Happy Birthday and sang along with the waitress. We really felt at home. The neighbourhood needs more places like this and we're so lucky to have found one next door.

Nice place friendly people...
I am a regular costumer at my neighborhood places, but I would like to say that Barking Dog is one of my favorites. The atmosphere inside is very cozy and relaxing, the service is great and the food is getting better and better every time I go there.

HOW is this place still in business????
I have never, ever written a review for anything before, but I was so irritated after my order this morning I had to get it out somewhere. This place has the WORST service known to man. Moved to the area last summer and I got delivery once and they screwed up my order not once, but - wait for this - THREE times. Talked to man in charge and he did not apologize at all. In fact, he said "this is why you should not order during peak times." Umm, I'm sorry, maybe I want to eat brunch at the same time normal people eat brunch. Around October, my boyfriend and I decided to go to the restaurant and eat there - maybe that would be better. Nope. We waited around an hour for our food, and were literally getting up to walk out as it finally came. It became clear that our waitress had forgotten to submit our order. Great. So today I was craving eggs and decided I would order just one more time from them since I didn't feel like going out and it is really the only breakfast place that delivers around here. I called and a woman who barely spoke english DID NOT KNOW what eggs benedict was. She kept saying "how do you want the eggs cooked? what kind of toast do you want?" So I tried to explain to her what eggs benedict was and what I wanted and we went back and forth for about five minutes. Finally guy in charge got on the phone and acted like I WAS THE IDIOT and explained to ME what eggs benedict was. Yes, yes, I am aware. They finally deliver it to me and the eggs are hard and gross, but okay, eggs benedict is hard to deliver. That can be overlooked. Then I realize that they forgot the blueberry muffin I also ordered. When I called back to get it sent up here, they were totally rude. I just don't understand - I guess it is my fault too for continuing to give them a second and third chance - but we are in Manhattan! We have good food in this city! How can this place be in business??!! From now on, I will get up and out of bed and walk ten blocks to eat some better food.

Awesome comfort food
Everything is great at this cozy, fun. NYC institution. The mac and cheese is a super treat (be sure to eat the grilled veggies on the side). Wonderful for brunch or for a casual dinner. Their granola is awesome. Delivery surprisingly fast. They take cash only, so remember to hit the ATM before you go.

Awesome food - Tremendous value
Excellent food. Great price. Where else in Manhattan can you go for lunch with 3 people & get out of there spending less than $50 (w/gratuities) & really enjoy your food. I try to find a new place to eat each time I get into the city & I'm so glad I found this little gem. I think I'll be rethinking my plan of finding a new place each time I'm in town. If I had to gripe about one thing, it might be the service. I won't get into details, but I will say that my waitress was quite decent. It was the others that were... sitting & standing around that made me question things a bit. All that was forgotten about when I got my food though. OH! One more gripe... there are two bathrooms there, both of which have the same exact sign on them. For goodness sake, please correct that! lol
