Barking Dog

the food is ok but the staff is terrible. The cashier needs an attitude adjustment. We went early for brunch, sat at a table outside, there was nobody else there yet. Waitress ignored us for 25 minutes. When my girlfried went to ask the hostes/cashier at the front why we were being ignored she yelled at her about the fact that we sat at a table without coming to the front to be seated first. The place was empty! The manager was nice about it but we decided to leave. We will never go back again.

I usually eat in when I come here and there's no problem, but I ordered pickup today. I walked in and told a waitress my order, and gave her a $20. She gave the $20 and bill to the cashier while giving the food to me. When I walked up to the cashier she held the $20 up with both hands in front of my face and said, "You're giving me this $20 bill for... what?" Her receipt had fallen behind her counter and I told her so, that I couldn't reach it, but that it's $11.11. She ignored my attempts at retrieving it from behind the counter so she can look at it, then said, "You have 11 cents?" Do I really want to buy food from a place where the staff treats me as if I've done some imaginary wrong to them?

Always thought the food was decent and seemed a nice place, mostly for lunch. Went once for dinner, ordered a pasta and after it arrived asked for some bread that was never brought. On the check I was charged for the piece (1 piece!)!!!! I've never been charged for bread with pasta before and I've never been back!

I picked up two milkshakes and they were terrible. I'm not sure there was ice cream included in the drink at all. They tasted like semi-cold milk with melted ice. Very disappointing. They did bring my dog a fresh cup of water while he waited outside in the 90 degree heat.

I moved near the barking dog in January and had to wait for two weeks for my truck to arrive. No cookware. I fell in love at first bite with this restaurant. The chef's omelet with shrimp, corn, feta cheese, dill and peppers is fantastic. I also love the cajun po boy sandwich. The waitstaff is very good, especially once they know you and I think the other reviewers must have somehow come at a busy or bad time to have given them a poor rating.

I went there for brunch and the food is mediocre and the service is offensive. The waitress rushed us to order then gave us attitude for sharing a large platter, even though there is a sharing fee. When we asked for more coffee, she only filled our mugs 1/3 of the way! I'm never going there again.

I only found this place because I craved chicken pot pie and searched for that on the UES... it was excellent! The ingredients were fresh and very good quality, the sauce was light and tasty and the crust was flaky and delicious - oh, and there was enough for 3 good-sized meals in it. The shepherd's pie was also decent.
