Ordered a takaway from here 2 weeks into our New York holiday. After eating out every day, paying a minimum of $100 on food, this take out was the best food we've had. Good price, super fast delivery. Will use again!

This place has a really satisfying atmosphere, just an overall nice feeling and friendly wait people. Was thrilled to see Yankee Pot Roast on the menu, so ordered it. Presentation of the dish was wonderful, large portion, with three lovely round hunks of beef, surrounded by a variety of vegetables plus wonderful potatoes with their skin on, and a nice gravy. Alas, all were tasty, except the meat, which was perfectly cooked, but tasteless, lacking any addatives. I tried catsup[ which helped somewhat, but should not have been necessary . Mentioned this to the waitress, and hope she mentioned it to the management. I'd love to try it again

Kept passing by this place, so decided to order. Unfortunately the battered fried chicken was bland and rather small pieces at that. You don't get much for the price you pay. The lemonade was quite awful which is sad to say because there's not much to it but sugar and lemon. Not happy about spending the 20+ dollars for an unsatisfying meal. I'll have to pass on this place.

The best thing I can say about this place is that the waiter was very accommodating. We got there at 7.40 and were politely told by an employee to return at 8. When we came back at 8 am sharp, the manager was irritated and told us we had to wait for 10 minutes. The pancakes were dry with maybe 2-3 blueberries per large pancake. The coffee was watery and they had not heard of soy milk! I think I should stick with my neighborhood East Village cafes with fresh croissants and scones and soy capuccino served from 7.30 am.

I've been to Barking Dog a bunch of times for brunch and had a good experience. I was very disappointed today. The service was slow (even though the restaurant was barely half full), my salmon burger was undercooked and my server begrudgingly took it back, and he charged me for my ice tea refills (never heard of that before!). I don't think I will be returning, sadly.

I had dinner at the Barking Dog the other night with my family and was impressed with the quality and freshness of the food. Every item we ordered tasted great, and the service was warm, friendly, and speedy. For some reason, I was expecting diner-quality food but this place is definitely a big step up from that! The price was reasonable, too. We'll definitely be back!

This is a place for strictly well prepared comfort food. Staples like turkey, salmon, shepherd's pie & meat loaf are above par. The pot roast is to die for. It's far better than your own grandmas. The soups are all home made. I'm not that familiar with their dessert menu as I rarely order any. By the time I'm finished with their excellent comfort food I never have any room left. I've been visiting this place for 14 years, and except for a hiatus in the mid 2000's when the food succumbed to "diner fare", this has been my favorite comfort food place. Don't miss the "sunset special" from 5pm to 7pm which includes an excellengt salad or soup and a dessert with your meal. This review is only for their 3rd Ave. & 95th St. location.
