What a wonderful little find!! Located in the heart of soho so after a long day of shopping so perfect to come across this place! Food was pretty great and service was even better our server took the time to explain plenty of dishes to us in detail I would Absolutely recommend this place

I went to Bari this weekend and was incredibly pleased with the service and the atmosphere. It is a very cool spot right in the heart of SoHo, however it is rather pricey.

Food outside? That's automatic nasty points to start. The food is whatever and the service is ridiculous. How do you dine in New York City, in the center of a tourist area, and have a waitress that barely speaks English. Weird. On top of that, they are rude. To make matters worse, tip is included. I'm sorry, but isn't that illegal?! This place should be removed from Broadway and replaced with something that better represents New York. Not some dingy cafeteria-looking place with a $22 burger.

My friend and I walked in around 3:30 on a saturday for a late lunch. While the place was busy, it wasn't packed. We sat for a good 8 minutes after we were seated by the snooty hostess before the waitress even came to the table. She didn't even ask if we wanted a drink. After she took our order, we barely saw her. She only asked if the food was alright after I am sure she saw me shooting her looks of discontent. I'll admit, the food was delicious, but I will never go back there. The staff was rude and disinterested, which I am sure is due to the fact that the tip is tacked on to the end of the bill. The awful service you will receive here is not worth the pricey food.

Tonight I had one of the most disappointing dining experiences of my life... I got to Bari around 9 with two girlfriends, and we ordered food pretty quickly after sitting down. Everything felt rushed. At 9:40 we were told that they were closing soon... Couldn't they have told us that before we sat down and ordered drinks and food?! We were pretty much ordered out by one of the "waitstaff" who was off duty. Can't even explain the rudeness!

Have been here twice, both times the food was good, but the waitstaff was at best disinterested and at worst openly hostile. I went in on a really slow night to have dinner, was basically ignored the whole time, and then was given a check with the gratuity included (after 7 years working in restaurants, I've never heard of putting automatic gratuity on a check for one person). Upon paying the check, the waitress confronted me, furious that I had not added an EXTRA tip to the one she gave herself. From other reviews I've read this seems to be quite common here.....there are hundreds of great restaurants in NYC, folks, don't waste your time with this one....

Located nearby, Cafe Bari became our substitute. Decor was sparse - three giant lampshades/lights suspended from the ceiling (which was high), and a wooden frame/art piece. Having said that, the restaurant space was narrow, so it was about right. Lots of windows & plenty of light. We were seated immediately. Service was quick and friendly. Burger was expensive - around $20 with the added charage for grilled onions - but it was delicious. The Fettucini Alfredo (with grilled chicken added) was also good, but again it was $20. Good coffee.
