    Marginal

was disappointed in the menu choices. I thought the food was just okay...nothing special. I wouldn't go back or recommend. Too many other great places to choose from.

    Simply the best

It's hard to describe just how good everything was. From the first greeting to desert, it was perfect. One of the finest meals I've ever had.

    Great Dining in Restaurant Row

I have visited Barbetta, several times over the past few years, and my experience has been exceptional on all occasions. The dining space is breath-taking, the restaurant staff amazing, and the food exquisite. I would recommend it to anyone.

    a perfect dining experience

My three friends and I had a wonderful dinner last night. This was the third year that we have dined there during Restaurant Week The atmosphere is so elegant! The maitre d' was most welcoming and friendly. He asked us if our show was starting at 7 or 8. When we told him it was 8, he told us to relax and order whenever we were ready and that we would not be rushed. The wait staff were very efficient- our water glasses and bread plates were refilled without our asking. The menu choices were ample.. The salads was fresh and very tasty. The beet salad was especially good. For the main course, two of us had salmon and the other two had the beef which was so tender and that it cut with a fork. The poached pear dessert was perfect. Our charming maitre d' , Stepehano, even brought two extra desserts, a creme brulee and a pistachio cream for us to enjoy. It was a delightful dinner in a wonderful restaurant. We are looking forward to dining there again and would recommend it highly.

    Fabulous dining experience

My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Barbetta before going to the theatre. The staff was courteous and paced our dinner so that we had time to dine and make it to the theatre on time. Our meal was superb. I enjoyed my pasta appetizer and beef in red wine entree. A selection of the desserts complemented a memorable dining experience. Barbetta never disappoints us. We will be back.

    Underappreciated Old World Elegant

I was surprised to see the negative reviews below. You don't go to Barbetta for a "hip", modern experience - you go for the oldest family-owned Italian restaurant in NY, the beautiful brownstone, the romantic garden and the traditional Italian menu. A New York experience not to be replicated anywhere else. I've been here many many times and have always loved it - both as a restaurant experience and for private events.
