The food at Barbetta is muted but good: traditional old-fashioned Italian (not Italian-American) fare. You won't find a better chicken-under-a-brick anywhere in the city. The service is courtly and attentive. But if you can get a seat in the garden, the whole experience is elevated. If only it wasn't in the theater district!

I have been passing this place for years always thinking I have to try it. I am so glad we did. It was great. The food was creative but subtle. I am planning a return soon.

was disappointed in the menu choices. I thought the food was just okay...nothing special. I wouldn't go back or recommend. Too many other great places to choose from.

It's hard to describe just how good everything was. From the first greeting to desert, it was perfect. One of the finest meals I've ever had.

Dined during restaurant week and found Barbetta to be exceptional. The Salmon and the baked pears were delicious. I would recommend this place to everyone

I have visited Barbetta, several times over the past few years, and my experience has been exceptional on all occasions. The dining space is breath-taking, the restaurant staff amazing, and the food exquisite. I would recommend it to anyone.

My three friends and I had a wonderful dinner last night. This was the third year that we have dined there during Restaurant Week The atmosphere is so elegant! The maitre d' was most welcoming and friendly. He asked us if our show was starting at 7 or 8. When we told him it was 8, he told us to relax and order whenever we were ready and that we would not be rushed. The wait staff were very efficient- our water glasses and bread plates were refilled without our asking. The menu choices were ample.. The salads was fresh and very tasty. The beet salad was especially good. For the main course, two of us had salmon and the other two had the beef which was so tender and that it cut with a fork. The poached pear dessert was perfect. Our charming maitre d' , Stepehano, even brought two extra desserts, a creme brulee and a pistachio cream for us to enjoy. It was a delightful dinner in a wonderful restaurant. We are looking forward to dining there again and would recommend it highly.
