    awful experience

the only credit i will give this place is the atmosphere. the candle-lit tables and crispy bread/sun-dried tomato dip were also pleasant. however, here's where the trouble started: 1. when it began to rain and we asked the manager if we could move inside from our outdoor table, he said he'd be right back, and never returned. it started raining so bad that the rain was hitting our food and they refused to help move our table closer to the window. 2. our busboy was eager to take our food away halfway through our meals even while there was a significant amount of food still waiting to be eaten. 3. the hostess was rude and turned her head when i asked if they supplied mints. altogether the staff is rude and clearly un-trained. if you're looking to get talked down to while eating a mediacore meal, you should absolutely go here.

    Amazing Experience, Amazing Food

My boyfriend and I decided to try this restaurant a few weekends ago and were blown away by our experience. I was nervous after reading mixed reviews, but everything was beyond my expectations. The outdoor seating was cozy and very relaxing. Service was great, the waitstaff always made sure our plates were cleared and our wine glasses were filled. The food was absolutely delicious. I tried the gnocchi with truffle cream sauce after hearing raving reviews about it and agree with everyone who loves it. My boyfriend had a different kind of ravioli and was just as happy and satisfied as me. While a little bit on the pricey side, I will definitely be coming back here because I had such a positive experience.

    Authentic and delicious Italian dishes...!!

I dined at this restaurant with my boyfriend last night. I knew they serve a great brunch but I wasn't sure if they serve satisfying Italian dishes. Since I experienced a lot of Italian home cooking dishes prepared by an Italian person, I found many Italian restaurant in New York was somewhat disappointing. We ordered Baffalo Mozzarella cheese and tomotoes as as an appetizer(shared), Bolonaise linguini and Vongolez linguini for main dishes, and chocolate mousse for dessert. Everything tasted so wonderful and amazing!! The way pasta is cooked with very fine olive oil was soooo indulzing. The dishes tasted real and authentic Italian food I had in a very local restaurant in Pisa, Italy. I don't understand the other negative reviews about this restaurant, but I had a great eating experience here and will definitely go back soon.

I was impressed, and I am Italian......

I rarely go out for italian food; I would rather make it myself it is inevitably better. However, this place was divine. The wait-staff was great, she was from Bologna, truly and I could speak to her in italian. Maybe that is why the food was fabulous. the fresh pasta and veal meatballs was just plain yummy. I couldn't have been happier. If you want an inexpensive meal, don't eat on the Upper East Side. It is that simple. Go to little italy or the east village. You might find cheap there or new jersey. I would go back in a heart beat.

    Don't go here

This place is way overpriced, and the food was just mediocre. There are so many cozy little Italian places in the city and this place just doesn't measure up. The ingredients were of poor quality and the food preparation was poorly uted . If you are charging over $30 for an entree, at least use fresh ingredients and make things from scratch. This place should be on Kitchen Nightmares. And dressing your waitstaff in white shirts with black ties doesn't fool anyone. They were unprofessional and a joke, especially the shoddy hostess. And don't be tempted to sit outside, you will have car headlights in your face all night. Spend your money elsewhere, or save yourself $100 and microwave a nice Italian frozen dinner on your own time.

    Great Italian Food

Last night, I went here with my boyfriend expecting some decent Italian food, but we were surprised. Everything they brought to our table was delicious, dare I say, phenomonal. The bread and olive oil melted in our mouths. I never tasted such rich olive oil. The tuna tartare was amazing. My lobster ravioli was to die for. I thought I was in Italy. Then to top it off, the latte was creamy and the tiramisu was scrumptous. The service was so-so, but it didn't matter because the food was so great. I enjoyed the decor of women portraits - what else can you expect in an Italian restaurant. The noise level was a little to high for me, but other than that, this place is great.

    Eh....

Cute place but overpriced for what it was. Entrees should not exceed $30 if there are rips in the seat cushions. The buffalo mozzarella wasn't soft and the tomatoes were not ripe. My filet mignon was not a good piece of meat at all it was touch with fat and some grissle. The side dish was totally bazar kale with some flavorless, rubbery mushrooms. The service was good and the wine was good....not a terrible experience but I would not return unless it was just for drinks at the bar.
