Great atmosphere, average food
I live across the street, so I've been here countless times. The pizza is really good, especially the arugula and prosciutto. The panini burgers are only OK. The fries are great. Eggs di parma is great for brunch. Everything else I've tried is just OK. The atmosphere and outdoor seating makes up for the mediocrity though. Very limited menu.

Good Neighborhood Place
I live around the corner from Bar Toto so I tend to go there quite frequently. Anything I've had that involves bread is good. I don't eat meat so I can't comment on that but the pizzas are really good (get it with the arugula on top) and so are any of the apps that have bread - hummus, bruschetta, etc. The salads are also quite simple and tasty. I almost always end up getting a side of spinach which is quite a large portion and full of garlicky yumminess. The service is occasionally flaky, but everyone is very nice. I don't know if I'd get on the train to go here on a regular basis, but for a place mere steps from my door it is more than decent.

No thanks
I'd heard the panini burgers were great, so I gave the place two chances and was disappointed both times. The burgers tend to come out overcooked and are greasy--even for a seasoned hamburger eater. Is it that hard to serve something unfried and vegetable-related? On the other hand, the building is quite charming and the service seems good.
