    What happened?

Like another reviewer stated, this used to be a neighborhood favorite. I don't know if it's new management, miserly owners or just pure laziness but this place has seriously fallen off. Rude and inattentive service (I was told a yellow gin and tonic was "normal") and a very obvious slip in the quality of ingredients means I won't even go for pickup anymore. The pizza is unpleasant now, it's like airplane food, and perpetually cold. you're better off with anywhere else.

    Going down hill... fast.

Like the restaurants location, near the Gowanus Canal, this place is going down hill fast. I have been coming here since they first opened, and over the course of the past few months, the quality of food has seemingly drastically decreased. Service remains the same, but the quality of the ingredients seem to be going down. I've been leaving unhappy nearly every time, and yet I keep coming back. Something really has to change, because this used to be the best place in the neighborhood, and now I find myself desperately searching for something. The Margherita pizza was great, now it's oily and cheap tasting. The bruschetta has been getting thinner and the toppings cut back. Somebody please save Bar Tano!

    left hungry

went there before a show at the bell house. Ordered a pasta dish (the pappardelle with ragu) ... not only was it under seasoned, but it was the most miniscule serving of food ever. I had one drink and the $12 entree and left hungry. I'm not a big person or a glutton, and I did second guess myself on the portion size (was I being a greedy American?) but honestly, it was the smallest plate of pasta ever and a "hint of ragu"... annoyed that I spent $25 (with drink and tip) and was left hungry. lame. also they are owned by the same people as Bar Toto which is sub par food at best.

    Food is great..table space sucks...

it was my first time there...i went on Valentine's Day for lunch..the food was great and the waiter was friendly..not to mention the price was unbeatable BUT..the table space is so tight...the waiter had to literally push out the table so my friend and I could get in..then when your seated the people around you can literally hear your whole conversation as i can hear theirs...they definately need to find a new table set-up for sure...other than that it is a great bite to grab in the slopes..worth the try...

    Surprisingly fantastic.

Wow, this was a real surprise. I was looking around for a cheepo Italian place. I found this place online. Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything great, more I just didn't want it to suck. What I discovered is a wonderful little bistro that serves incredible food while somehow remaining reasonably priced. This is close to the subway, but isn't really in the cool part of Park Slope. I'm a little concerned because despite the great decor (tin ceilings and walls with beautiful lacquered wood) and fantastic service there was hardly anyone there. Now I don't like to deal with crowded restaurants, but I don't want this place to go out of business. I highly recommend it.

    Nostalgic

Love this place. The food is really great and the atmosphere is to die for. Any Bruschetta will satisfy you and the pastas are very enjoyable. You must have the Olive Plate! Love the Pepperoni pizza! An all aournd great dining experience.

    gotten a lot better

When this place first opened, it was just okay. Because it is so close to my home, I've kept coming and I've been pleased to watch it get better and better. The menu hasn't changed, but it's become consistently good. The current waitstaff is quite capable, and the kitchen has found it's groove. They also have a great lunch special that's a great value.
