The short rib ragu is all I can think about sometimes. My wife and I argue over what we're going to order, because we both have a couple of top favorites. Great atmosphere, decent service, and a tasty Bulliet Manhattan. The bruschettas are all delicious. Al di La? We thought Bar Tano was tastier.

My husband and I just moved to Park Slope from Manhattan (Hell's Kitchen). Bar Tano is just a few blocks from where we now live - and after having only been in our new apartment for 1 week, we have eaten here 3 times already (twice for lunch, once for dinner). We absolutely adore this place for its simple, fresh, honest dishes, fair prices, good, personable service, and the wonderful, relaxed atmosphere. We will be eating here a lot, and are happy to have this place in our new neighborhood.

I used to live a block from Tano, and I must say that I miss being able to pop in any time. Their pizza is crispy, and the sauce is magnificent (I recommend the prosciutto & arugula pie). The Tano Burger is served on a panini and it is one of the best burgers I've had in New York. They feature a dozen solid craft beers and an impressive wine list. I'd hate to see this Park Slope establishment become over-crowded, but I'd be satisfied to know that it won't be going out of business.

Like another reviewer stated, this used to be a neighborhood favorite. I don't know if it's new management, miserly owners or just pure laziness but this place has seriously fallen off. Rude and inattentive service (I was told a yellow gin and tonic was "normal") and a very obvious slip in the quality of ingredients means I won't even go for pickup anymore. The pizza is unpleasant now, it's like airplane food, and perpetually cold. you're better off with anywhere else.

Like the restaurants location, near the Gowanus Canal, this place is going down hill fast. I have been coming here since they first opened, and over the course of the past few months, the quality of food has seemingly drastically decreased. Service remains the same, but the quality of the ingredients seem to be going down. I've been leaving unhappy nearly every time, and yet I keep coming back. Something really has to change, because this used to be the best place in the neighborhood, and now I find myself desperately searching for something. The Margherita pizza was great, now it's oily and cheap tasting. The bruschetta has been getting thinner and the toppings cut back. Somebody please save Bar Tano!

went there before a show at the bell house. Ordered a pasta dish (the pappardelle with ragu) ... not only was it under seasoned, but it was the most miniscule serving of food ever. I had one drink and the $12 entree and left hungry. I'm not a big person or a glutton, and I did second guess myself on the portion size (was I being a greedy American?) but honestly, it was the smallest plate of pasta ever and a "hint of ragu"... annoyed that I spent $25 (with drink and tip) and was left hungry. lame. also they are owned by the same people as Bar Toto which is sub par food at best.
