Fine food, nice ambiance but is this a movie set?
My first visit to this new Italian eatery on Madison Avenue was during Restaurant Week, so the prices were affordable. The regular menu is pretty pricey but what can one expect in this high-rent area near all the world-class designer shops: That said, the food was tasty and of high quality. Even the mixed salad was superb. The service was erratic, with a polished Maitre 'd taking initial orders and a succession of busboys taking orders for bread, filling water glasses and delivering different courses. Some were even put on the table without the much-dreaded "who gets the chicken?" question. It's a sleek atmosphere and they have some things going for them, but an injection of warmth would be a good thing. CH
