    Great food! Amazing night

We went there a couple nights ago and we hadn't been in a while. I don't know why we haven't visited sooner. It puts every other bar-resto in NY to shame. The food was amazing. The burger should be at the top of every "Best of" list in NY. Excellent wine list with a nice range to choose from. Service was attentive but not hovering. Nice music. Very cool atmosphere, but not trying too hard. Just a great night from start to finish. Have the apple crisp for dessert.

    Great Prix Fixe!

We went on a Friday night and discovered that they have a $35 prix fixe on Fridays and Saturdays from 6-8pm. It was a great value. The food was delicious and service was attentive. Had a really nice experience overall.

    Was Still Hungry After Dinner

I went to Bar Blanc last night with a group of friends for a celebration. Our group was treated well by the staff from the minute we arrived. While we all thought the food was tasty, our entire group was really surprised by how tiny the portions were (especially the $36 steak that was essentially four slices of meat). Considering how hefty our final tab was, I was really dismayed that I left the restaurant still hungry.

    Last nights meal

After hearing about this restaurant for a while now I decided to give it a try. The place is nice... atmoshpere terrific.... food is good. Thats the problem, the food is just good. Frankly there was nothing wrong with my meal but it just wasnt AMAZING. For the prices and the hype it should be amazing. I dont think its worth the money and I will definitely not go back, but there was nothing wrong with the place either.

Tasty, but rushed & small portions

Went with my wife this past weekend. We had the kampachi sashimi, cod, and chicken lasagna. The chicken lasagna was very tasty and unique, but I found the portion size to really be inadequate. The ingredients did not seem particularly costly and it should have been more generous. The kampachi was fine not terribly unique and probably not a repeat. Other point is that the restaurant was not very crowded but they seemed very quick at getting us to order drinks, eat and get out. I'm not sure why they were in such a rush. The ambiance is very pleasant and the room is really nice looking. I think it's certainly worth trying but was not thrilled with the value for what we paid.

Good food, a little too quick

Food is terrific. Very tasty. The service felt rushed like they were trying to churn and burn customers. Everyone at our table had an appetizer, entree, desert, and coffee - the entire meal took 75 minutes. That's just too quick. We didn't even finish our bottle of wine.

    Holy Moly

The food here is good. Really good. I've only been once, but I was completely blown away with food. Judging from the one meal I've had here, it ranks up there with the heavy hitters - Le Bernadin, Gotham Bar and Grill, Gramercy Tavern and so on. But it is much less formal than those places. That's not to say the service is lax -its better than average for sure. And the all white room is cool too. My only complaint is it food feels almost too precious for a neighborhood place which I think its trying to be.
