My boyfriend and I were having a bite with some friends having a good time for a couple of hours. We were laughing - holding hands, hugging, kissing...NO TOUNGE, nothing in appropriate. AFTER I pay the bill for 7 people the waitress comes over and says. I'm sorry but the manager asked me to tell you that this is a family estab. I then asked to speak to the manager and he tells me - There are children present and that a straight family made a comment. I then turned around - walked over to the ONLY table in the empty place with kids and said. Please accept my apologies I was told that my boyfriend and I have offended you. Allow me to please pay for your meal and handed my credit card to the waiter. The family looked at me like I was crazy and said that they had no idea what I was talking about. The OWNER then walks over and says... Please do not disturb my paying costumers and leave! To which I replied... I just payed a bill for 7 people...I am a paying customer. The mother then told the owner how dare he treat me this way and that he should refund my money. Then the father got up and started arguing with the owner. My boyfriend grabbed my arm and said... Please... lets leave. I walked out and sent a text to hundreds of people and facebooked. In my life I was NEVER treated this way ever! AND IN CHELSEA of all places!

These people serve decent food but with the most arrogant treatment possible. I live in Chelsea and after three tries there will never go back. Whether the are rude when seating, rude in getting your order or rude in getting your check to you, they are consistently finding a way to show you that they do not value your money or time.

It`s the third time we go to Bar Baresco. Very good service(first time the waitress was able to answer to our doubts about wine an food and the second time the waiter recomended a delicious special for our dinner), great selection of wine by glass and by bottle (we had a lovely Barolo wine!). The atmosphere is great, nice music and italian movies such as La Dolcie Vita on the screens. Not too crowded, great for couples!

This restaurant looks pretty swanky, but the prices are surprisingly low and the food was delicious. Our waiter was a little rude, and he rushed us towards the end of the mealhe gave us the bill as soon as he cleared away our plates without even asking if we wanted dessert (we didn't, but it's the principal of the matter). Still, I'd definitely go back again.

Great vibe, great panini and even better wine selection.
