The portions are huge, the setting nice, and the service very good. The food itself is average carb laden comfort type food. But definately worth a visit if this is what you are looking for.

The burgers are awesome, and the waffle fries that come along are perfect. My only complaint is the price of drinks. It just comes as a big surprise when you're having a $12 meal to be charged $17 for one martini. I guess the drinks are the way they pay the rent. Other than that, will continue to dine here....but skip the martini.

Returned to Bar 89 after a few yrs to find that the food has gone downhill. Tried a number of appetizers and sandwiches all of which lacked flavor and were over salted. The space and service was excellent as before.

The restaurant was suggested to me by a clerk at a nearby store and it was just what my friend I an were looking for after a long day of shopping. Bar 89 is stylishly decorated with space-age bathrooms and fresh flowers on all the tables. The food and drinks were good and reasonably priced, especially for the neighborhood. Overall, Bar 89 manages to be both casual and sophisticated, and I highly recommended it if you are in the area.

Love this place. It's chic, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. It has a very NYC feel to it. Prices are decent, martinis are excellent, servers are friendly and timely for the most part. They card on weekend nights which is nice because it keeps the kids out. Love it.

Bar 89... The layout is really cool. They 'seasonally' - subtley change the decor. The restrooms are the most unique feature. You'll have to seem them for yourself! From what we were told, the location use to be a parking lot years ago until the the current owner purchased the empty space and built the edifice to what it is now. The service is emppacable. The bartenders and servers are efficient and kind. Check out the drink menu as well as the food. The wings are the best in the city (we've been to many places with great wings). The Au Poivre burgers are phenomenal. The drink/martini list is extensive and exotic! They have all the scotches, whiskeys, and some vodkas we never heard of! Their Mojitos have Gosslings rum in it. At first we thought this was a bit unusual, but it adds a nice touch. Try the Watermelon, Pomtini, Tartini, French Celebration, and especially the Espresso martini (with real espresso) or even the Godiva chocolate martini. THUMBS UP!
