    Downhill

Haven't been here in years and figured it was time for a visit. This place has gone completely downhill. It is a total tourist trap. My wife and I were the only non Europeans in the place at lunch time. The space was half empty and the waitstaff seemed uninterested in being at work. The cobb salad was just plain ole unappetizing. It looked like microwave chicken or chicken you'd get from a sandwich chain on it. The pork chop sandwich was just messy and mediocre. For a lunch costing $60 that consisted of a lettuce wrap app, a salad a sandwich and one iced tea, take your money elsewhere. Much better local spots in the neighborhood.

    Loooovvveee It!

Love this place! Went here two days ago for the first time and instantly loved it. The decor is great, the bathrooms looks awesome, the service is great and their food is fantastic! I would most definitely come here a million times more.

    Miami poolside in Soho!

I had a great time at Bar 89! Based on the name, I was expecting a dark, sweaty bar, but Bar 89 is a modern, minimalist cocktail lounge tucked away in the alleys of Soho. The food and drinks reminded me of sipping martinis by the poolside in Miami. The Bar offered a long list of sophisticated, summer-inspired drinks, which were complemented by no-fuss burgers, club sandwiches and salads. I will definitely be going back for the cocktails!

    once was more than enough

heard about the burger for years, so we finally went. the actual meat was good, but was overwhelmed by all the extras. the space is tired and dated; needs a makeover. we ate at the bar and the service could not have been much worse. after ignoring us for ages while unloading bucket after bucket of ice to the bar and rinsing glasses the bartender finally took our order. we never even got the basics like salt and pepper. the waffle fries were bland, soft, and perhaps the poorest fries we've had in a couple years.

    Love this place!

We came in last Sunday for brunch and sat at the bar. The food was fantastic- huge portions and very delicious! The bartender was really cool- he was really fast with our drinks, very friendly, and gave excellent food recommendations. Bar 89 is a great place and I love bringing out of town guests here to experience it.

    Great bar

I love this bar. The space is amazing and their special drinks are delicious. Everything I've ever eaten here has been good too, although I've usually stuck to the more traditional items like hamburgers and buffalo wings.

    Unhelpful Waitress

I'd give this place 4 stars as the food, ambiance, service is ok. Not great that I'd rave to all my friends about, but not bad where I wouldn't go back. But I give this place 3 stars this time because of this one horrible, I mean horrible experience with a waitress there on Jan 1st. She was ok the whole time but when it came to the check, this is what happened. My sister's boyfriend signed the bill for $63. She took the bill immediately after he signed it. I thought it was rude to take that while people are still sitting and chatting. We thought the bill was a bit high, so we had her bring the bill out for us to check the break down of things. The break down showed $53 and did not line up with the $63 we signed for. So we called the waitress over to figure out why there's a discrepancy. Ultimately, she forgot to take off the $10 drink we had canceled and have us signed the higher bill and said she was going to take off the $10 after wards and was hoping we wouldn't catch that mistake. However, her tip was based on the initial $63 charge. Had we not caught this mistake, she would have probably charged us $63. She was speechless and tried back peddling when we told her it was not right. It was a terrible experience as we brought my sister and her boyfriend there for the first time and they are visitors from LA. Such a bad impression to visitors and it makes the restaurant look really bad as well.
