Don't let the tripe scare you!

I wasn't sure I'd like this place, because I'm not a big meat eater, but it's one of my new favorites! The veguette is fantastic, well-spiced veggie protein with cucumber and mint... it's one of those sandwiches you find yourself thinking about for months and randomly craving until you get another. The shrimp summer rolls were also a great balance to our spicy sandwiches. The waitstaff is friendly and quick, the space is enticing, casual, and energetic. I'm not sure where else you could find such a delicious and truly reasonably priced New York treat.

Only tried the Bahn Mi and Pho, but they are fantastic

Managed at this point to try all but one of the different bahn mi sandwiches, and they are great. Always get take out so can't comment on the service, but the value can't be beat!

    Choose Fish over Chicken

The portions are huge and the prices are low, but ultimately the chicken was so fatty that I couldn't really eat it. I'd go with the fish instead.

    way too salty

Everything was perfect except the food way way too salty. Especially the lamb chops. Like a Shakespearean hero with a fatal flaw ~ so tragic

    Delish!

Food: We sampled the bone marrow (side), Pho Real, and the Catfish banh mi sandwich. It was all scrumptious! The dishes were well prepared (as we saw through the open kitchen) and had tons of flavor. We were particularly impressed by how fresh the noodles in the pho tasted and how clean the flavors in general were - not muddied by too much oil or spice. Just as good as dishes we've had in Vietnam. Space: The venue is small but not shoebox tight like similar restaurants. It's basically a cleaned up/hipper looking noodle shop - great for a casual date or a good meal with a small group of friends. Service: Great! Very attentive but not obnoxiously so. Overall: Will definitely be going back soon!

    Great Sandwich

I heard about this place on a well known TV show and wanted to try the Sloppy Bao sandwich, which was featured. I was not disappointed. The sandwhich's take on the American sloppy joe was a perfect combo of sweet and spicy, with great, fresh Asian flavors. The bread was perfectly fresh. It was worth a trip from the Upper West Side to the West Village.

    Pretty on spot

I'm from Houston and have eaten a lot of good Vietnamese food. This place has some pretty authentic, solid Vietnamese food. The bun (rice noodles) salad with chicken is really good but I wish there was a grilled pork option. And I was really impressed with the fresh shrimp and balance of the papaya salad. The banh mi is really good too but I'm not sure why the Vietnamese restaurants out east replace grilled pork with the red-looking, bbq pork this is chopped up. The bread has been a bit burnt a few times I've ordered but really solid. I've had the pho too and the broth is nice and flavorful. Even in delivery, they provided all the fresh herbs and everything came out great. I just feel fortunate that there's finally good Vietnamese that delivers in my 'hood.
