    A lot for Less!

My first Bahn Mi Sandwich came from a cart and that was delicious... when I came to this place, not only was this bulkier, it was cheaper! This certainly beats a Subway footlong sandwich! Service might be a bit slow during lunch...but it's worth the wait. The only downside is that, it's like takeout, and there are no tables...just benches. But it's my fave place so far.

    Best sandwich deal in NYC!

A delicious foot-long Vietnamese sandwich for $3.75! I do believe this is the best sandwich deal in NYC, or in Manhattan at any rate. So tasty. So cheap. What more can you ask for? This will definitely become one of my regular places for a meal. There's not really much of a place to sit and eat it, but then again if there was, it would probably be more expensive, so I'm not complaining. Call and order ahead, especially if you are coming after lunch time. When you do so, be aware that they don't speak very much English. When he asked me "spicy?" I first tried to order medium spiciness, but he didn't understand, so I just ordered spicy, which turned out to be fine. They are officially open til 7PM, but the first time I came, I came at 6:30, and they had sold out all their sandwiches already. So the next time, I ordered ahead by phone at 5, and they had my sandwich waiting for me at 6:30. Also, be aware that they're closed on Mondays.

    Great Sandwiches

The bahn mi sandwiches are off the hook. You cant beat it for $3.75. There is not much as far as atmosphere and there are only a few tables to sit and eat. However, if you are in the mood for some cheap eats that really hit the spot, check this place out.

    Amazing value, great banh!

Probably the best banh around! Sandwiches were flavorful and very fresh. You can have it as spicy as you like or not at all. I would go here as an alternative from fast food Chinese. The sandwiches were huge and a great value. They also have great salads and malay jan. There are 3 small benches towards the back of the jewelry/crystal store if you decide to eat in, but the majority of customers take out. The lack of atmosphere is made up in the outstanding quality of the banhs.

    Great!

If you have been searching for a yummy Vietnamese Sandwich look no further! Bahn Mi's top all others I have eaten in the city. Whether you go for the chicken, pork or veggie all are excellent, cheap and you can't beat the uniqueness of the locale.

    Tied with Hawaii's Bale

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The only other place with HUGE delicious viet sandwiches like this, that i've tasted, is Bale in Hawaii. I ate it every single day and never tired of it...but in nyc....it was never the same...UNTIL i found this place! Great price (considering it's NYC. P.S. i've only tried the Pork one.

Best to eat outside(lots of crumbs)

It seems more and more Vietnamese sandwich places are popping up, some even in midtown, but this remains the best in my eyes. Currently, I've tried at least 4 other places and they are always a lesser sandwich, both in size and in the quality of the ingredients. As others have mentioned, I had to give the atmosphere a low score since it is just a take out shop and gets reallly crowded at times. Yes, it really is in the back of a jewelry store, but it's really not as bad as it sounds. I generally just buy the pork Banh Mi, but the vegetarians I know also rave about the Buddhist version. My family has hired me as their delivery man to NJ, but I never get a tip...sigh
