This is a GREAT addition to the neighborhood! Jesse’s (the place before this) was just a’ight. And previous to Bangkok Hts, the closest place to get Thai delivery was Nam Thai in Riverdale. So we welcomed this restaurant to the area w/ enthusiasm! The food is delicious. We’ve tried assorted appetizers, noodle dishes & entrees here & they’ve all be fabulous. True, the place had some delivery glitches early on. We couldn’t even get through by phone in their initial weeks, & it was too packed to dine in! But now we have had pleasant experiences both eating there & ordering delivery. Just note, they are NOT terribly open to certain substitutions in their food (e.g. getting one dish w/ the sauce from another), don’t even try it, you’ll get suggestions from them of what to get instead & it can end up being a whole other thing. I appreciate the suggestions but it’s easier for me to order something else instead! Overall, we enjoy having Bangkok Heights as a food option in Washington Heights!

Based on previous reviews i thought the food would be mediocre at best but was craving thai so i was willing to eat something resembling thai and was pleasantly surprised. very yummy flavorful food. agree with slow delivery (they also got the address wrong) but i recommend the food wholeheartedly!

I completely agree with the other reviewers that while Bangkok Heights has improved their actual food quality markedly over the course of the last several months, the $15 delivery minimum is absolutely ridiculous, especially when compared with most neighbourhood hot spots. It also has taken them up to an hour to deliver 9 blocks away (shame on me for not walking over, I guess). Need to improve all aspects of the delivery experience.

I have now been to BH a dozen times, and I have to say that despite a rocky beginning, it has really come into its own. The service is consistently good and fast, and the food itself has gotten even better over the summer. Sadly they have applied for a liquor license. so hurry over before they end their fantastic BYO policy!

There's numerous places in the city with better Thai, but this is the only Thai place this far Uptown. Food is acceptable. Delivery times good. I would order from here more, but they apply their $15 delivery minimum during lunch special hours. It defeats the purpose of getting a lunch special (ie cheap) if I need to spend $15.

Just recieved my take-out order of house pork fried rice and Jungle Curry, and both dishes were disappointing. We tossed it out and ordered in a new meal from elsewhere. The jungle curry was assorted vegetables that looked like they had been boiled in this thin, dish water like sauce they came served in. The vegetables were grey and lifeless, and there was no curry flavor at all. The fried rice was gummy and goopy, with more grey vegies and no flavor.

Good Thai option for the WaHi area. But too often I call for take out and can't get through, and I repeatedly get a message that the user has not set up their voicemail box!! This restaurant needs to set up their phones so they at least answer and put you on hold- I called over and over tonight and finally gave up and ordered from another restaurant, which is a shame. I hope they fix this.
