Bank for your Buck
I've lived in the neighborhood for a while now but only just started going to Banc in May... and I love it! The waitresses recognize me when I go in and always take wonderful care of us. The brunch is amazing and really affordable. I don't even mind having to wait sometimes since they are so busy. I love bringing my friends and introducing them to the place. My friend is planning on having a birthday party there in December. I was just there last night and had a great time! The cocktails are really unique. I definately reccommend this place to everyone!

What has happened to this place?
I used to be a HUGE fan of Banc... HUGE! but I am so terribly disappointed at the drop of quality in the past year. FOOD: The food is fine. Uninspired but fine. It's not a place i would bring people for a nice dinner (and I used to!) but for a mid week bar snack or to sit out side or even for brunch I still go. Service: who are they hiring? it seemed like the last girl that waited on me had never waited tables before and it wasn't the first time either. But, I've also had great service there- it's just very inconsistent! I'm just going to start asking for the same waitress over and over. BAR: The new drinks are great! but unfortunately for me, it's too little too late. Especially when some of the bartenders are rude and sloppy. I've seen some unsavory practices that I won't mention. I'd LOVE to talk to a manager. Shape it up guys cuz you're going to lose the neighborhood regulars.

Excellent brunch and burgers
Went for brunch and my omlette was AMAZING (tomato, bacon and chorizo omlette). My friend's burger was one of the best burgers i've had in the city. Really cool space, very inexpensive for the high quality...clearly a chef in the kitchen not just a cook. Lots of subtle great flavors. I really like this spot.

kudos
My second time here...first was for brunch and it was very pleasant. Last night I came for dinner and we had a great night. Service was wonderful and had wines by the glass. Appetizers were the blackened shrimp and the trio of dumplings (6 of them). Both had great spices and a nice start to the meal. Main courses were the sesame crusted salmon and the seared scallops. The salmon was done very nicely and was over sauteed veggies and rice. The scallops had a bit of spice to them and a great cous cous with spinach on top. All in all a really nice night and dinner. A great local place to come back to

Terrible Service
This place has gone downhill. Just had lunch here and I feel bad if the bus boys are relying on tip outs from the waitstaff b/c they're probably getting the short end of the stick. Our waitress forgot our appetizer and didn't acknowledge it till we brought it up. Then we proceeded to have empty glasses that she took forever to refill. The place was not packed. Not suprisingy, we also had to wait for our check.

Just OK
This place's reputation as being the "trendy" spot in Murray Hill is the main reason it's popular. Thre food is overpriced and not that great. The main reason for going there is the close proximity to my apt, but I would not seek this out for food otherwise, maybe just drinks.

decent
Not too impressed. Ordered chicken over string beans and vegetables, Chicken wasn't too tasty. I would advise people to stick to the bar and if you plan on having a nice dinner out, go somewhere else.
