went here 3x in one week..

I live in the area and new about this place for a few years but never stopped in..then I did and went twice in the same week. As a kid who grew up in Brooklyn in an Italian family, I've eaten my fair share of Italian food..and this stuff is the real deal The bolognese sauce is so delicious and the pasta is perfectly al dente, which is so important. They split the dishes into perfect portions and didn't charge extra for that. The chicken marsala, francese and parmigiana are all perfect. For appetizers I've so far had the clams casino (delicious and bacony), the clams oreganata which were very good with lemon, the fried zucchini which are really light and good, and the cold antipasto salad which has tons of anchovies and fresh tomatoes and nice cheeses it was very refreshing. we came in the 2nd time very close to them closing and we ordered spaghetti and meatballs although the pasta wasn't as good as it could have been it was because the kitchen was just about to close. The service is VERY good here and even when we were almost the last table eating they still offered us dessert/coffee. This is perfect home style Italian and I want to eat here every night. I think I am going again tomorrow to try the tripe.

    Mangiare bene!

Bamonte's is a true classic dinning experience that you will always remember. Start with their excellent Martini's with olives! I do. I have been coming to Bamontes almost every friday for the past 60 years. Veal and peppers, belle fatto! This is the best resturant in Brooklyn.. I highly recommend it.

Classic Italian food, service and atmosphere... the way it should be

I love this place. You feel like you've been transported back in time the moment you step into the restaurant. And everyone there has that old time class. You feel welcome, like family. I can't tell you the last time I felt so at home at a restaurant. The service is first rate. No pretension here. The food is classic, old school delicious. Wonderful all around. No wonder they chose it for several episodes of The Sopranos.

    Chef Boyardee Glorified

I get sick everytime someone says that Bamonte's is "authentic Italian cuisine". Take it from a real 100% Italian/Sicilian with off-the-boat parents Bamonte's is Americanized "Italian" sludge. The pasta is gummy, overcooked and drowned in canned tomato sauce, none of the ingredients are fresh or bright, the bread basket is filled with loaf-shaped Wonder Bread and the decor is as depressing as Grandpa's basement. Italian food is all about fresh and light. Think Mario Batali....not Joey Tribbiani.

    Truly Authentic Experience

The waiters were full of personality, and the food was amazing just like a homecooked meal from your grandmother. My family enjoyed it as well, though my father's only complaint was that he didn't get noodles with his veal but the family style sides were really enjoyed! Wine was inexpensive enough to get a few bottles, and we all enjoyed free sambuca with our coffees. If you're an Italian-American from the northeast, Bamonte's is pure nastalga.

    Great atmosphere, subpar food

This is such a fun place to dine- waiters in tuxedos, old-school Italian charm- however, I've given this place a shot 3 times (once with my true-blue Italian in-laws) and have been horribly dissapointed with the food every time. I hate to say it, but this place is not good at all. The food is over priced and tastes like it was prepared by a 19 year old college student.

Go to be Old-School not to be Gourmet

I'm glad I've been here for the old-school Italian neighborhood experience. The service and atmosphere are excellent. The food - it's good, but not worth the cost.
