Food was NOT good. I'm not sure that they know what Japanese food is supposed to taste like. Ordered tempura but the tempura coating was strange and overly thick. Ate very little of it... Also had a roll but the rice was so over manipulated that it had the consistency of mochi. In fact, you could neither see or taste the individual rice kernels because they were pounded into a silly paste. Ate very little of this as well... Left and proceeded to have a second dinner else where.

I work just down the street, and have been eating here since it was known as Kao. The hostess has always been energetic and kind. The sushi (the only thing I get here) is always the same...very good. Consistency can be hard to come by in the restaurant world, please don't misinterpret! The lunch specials are great. The atmosphere is clean (in every sense of the word) and its great for either dine in or take out. Oh, and CHEAP. three rolls for ten bucks? yes, please.

After reading some good reviews, I decided to order sushi here today. The lunch special is a good deal but it wasn't good. The avocado was a little squishy, and tuna didn't taste good. Like I said, the price was good but I don't think I 'll be back.

I come here for lunch at least once a week. I regularly try all the other sushi lunch places in the neighborhood just for fun, and this one is by far my favorite. The fish is fresher and juicier than at other places, and the service is great. Also, they recently renovated their interior, and it is very nice inside - sunny and spacious. Plus it's never crowded. I highly recommend the salmon special for lunch. If you haven't been here in a while, try it again, you won't regret it.

I used to order delivery from here all the time, but tonight I throw the food out and ordered my dinner from another restaurant. The fish is not fresh at all and I was really disappointed. I don't think I'll order again.

I usually come here for lunch and the bottom line is Kao is always consistent . Most of the sushi lunch specials are under 10 bucks which is a plus, and are delicious. The service is quick and friendly and food presentation is simple and precise. The atmosphere is plain and clean with all energy being placed on food. Try the spicy tuna roll, it is delicious.
