great!
There is a running joke in my family about how much I order from this place. I love it so much and I think the delivery guy is pretty much my best friend. LOL. Yes, I know how sad this sounds but the food is just delicious and the prices are incredible. I have never been to the location but the delivery comes super fast and the food is usually too hot to eat when it gets here! Something I am not used to with normal delivery! I will eat from here even if I move out of the area. I have a chinese place right across the street and I would rather order from Bamboo House and wait for it. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I am waiting for them to open right now!!! Cheers!

Slow delivery, poor food.
I really wanted to find good Chinese delivery in the East Village, so I was encouraged when I saw the reviews. Unfortunately the delivery took 45 minutes, and the food was disappointing when it arrived. The sesame chicken was quite soggy and not crispy at all. Most of the pieces of chicken were dark meat, not white meat. The fried rice was very overcooked, mushy white rice. I will not order delivery from here again.

The Best COLD NOODLES WITH SESAME SAUSE
This was the favorite restaurant of my sister and future brother in law back in the early to mid '80's. They introduced me to The Best COLD NOODLES WITH SESAME SAUCE in the world. My sister and Brother in law now live a million miles away in Rochester, but every time I come back to NYC, I make it a point to visit the Bamboo House, and highly recommend it to everyone that I meet there. Every experience that I have had there involves the Sesame Noodles, to whom I compare every other Chinese restaurant in the universe, and have not come close to finding an acceptable alternative here in Buffalo, or in Southern Ontario. My other favorite there is the Kung Pau Chicken or Shrimp. I am frothing at the mouth thinking of my next visit.

Dont judge a book by its cover!
Yes, the place looks like SUCH a dump, but the food is great for the price. Their half-off sushi deal is amazing! If you order $12 or more of sushi/sashimi/rolls, you get it for half off. If you're getting a large order of sushi, be prepared to wait a bit... there is only one sushi chef. It's not the best sushi in down but its pretty darn good. They also have an "All You Can Eat" sushi deal for $19 bucks. I dont care for their Chinese food, but their chicken wings are very crispy and tasty!

Best Chinese, even including ChinaTown
This restaurant has amazing food. I lived down the street for a year and took out from there at least once or twice a week. Although I generally stick to my favorite meal of chinese chicken wings (best I've tasted in New York!), white rice, and the incredible yellow lemonade or iced tea, I've also branched out to try other dishes like their beef and broccoli which was also great and a huge portion. Their lunch special price and quantity is also great. Service is friendly and they knew my face and order after only a few times going there. I now live a few blocks further away and have them deliver at least once a week, still. Delivery is fast, and my order has always been perfect. I highly recommend Bamboo House for anyone within walking/delivery distance.

Good eats
We eat and order from here all the time. The food is very good in house but for deiviery it can sometimes arrive soggy and not quite right. They are very quick on delivery and will always try to remedy any delivery mishaps. We will continue to enjoy their cooking. The place it self is a real dive so if you are looking to eat in a place that has atmosphere this is not it.

Tasty and affordable Chinese food...
Bamboo House is a wonderful establishment, especially for the student population around the East Village area. Portions are large, and well-balanced, and the menu offers some interesting options. I don't think I've ever seen anyone eat the sushi that they serve there (there is an adorable sushi bar tucked into a corner of the dining room), but their Chinese cuisine is fabulous. The dining room is very retro old-school like, and has a 60s-like feel to it. The restaurant is always quiet and comfortable, and a pleasant place to sit and unwind. For the dollar, you can not get anything better in that area, nor would you want to. Service is consistent, the employees are friendly... overall, it is completely worth going to. You will certainly enjoy yourself.
