    great sushi!

i love this place!! the sushi is a bit pricey ill admit, but its definitely worth it. the lovely roll (chilean sea bass tempura roll) is absolutely amazing. not crazy about the shrimp tempura roll since it has lettuce in it, and makes it taste a bit strange. the service has always been friendly whenever i have gone and you cant beat 1/2 price drinks till 9 every day.

    A little pricey

The hijiki salad was great! The service and the hijiki salad were the only redeeming qualities of this bar/resto. The sushi was okay, I guess. A little too pricey for something that was just okay. I mean, it was decent and I'll definitely eat it but to spend $12.50 for a shrimp tempura roll that was cold and uninspiring, to say the least, is not something I would do again. The atmosphere was okay, more of a bar than a restaurant. This place was swarming with gays... I love them so I didn't mind at all! Sat next to some and they were shaking to the music while having dinner which made me smile. Overall, a pleasant experience but just a little too pricey on the special rolls. My suggestion is to just order the classic rolls instead...more bang for the buck!

    mediocre

happy hour drinks were mediocre - even for half price. the sushi was over priced and the place was half empty. their vegetable roll was $8 and only consisted of 6 pieces. the quality wasn't terrible, but it definitely was not good value.

    The Wait That Never Ended

We had reservations and were seated right away. We put in our drink orders and the first round came quickly. We had ordered food and that an hour later and in peice meal. We were a group of 7 and 3 did not get their meal. After another long period, 2 of my friends got a portion of their meal leaving 1 without hers. We got another round of drinks after hunting down the waiter. It took 3 hours to get two rounds of drinks and some of the food we ordered. The food is very good, all the sushi was delicious, but dont order the chicken tempora because it is simply a chicken cutlet cut in peices. They were short staffed so they had one waiter for the back room and outside. The two ridiculously dressed hostesses kept staring at our table wondering when we were going to leave. All in all, I would not return to this establishment.

    Great

I went here on a first date. When I walked in I was thrown by the very bar-like atmosphere (I mean it IS a bar, but I was expecting more of a restaurant) BUT that did not take away from the experience. We sat at the sushi bar and our server was really friendly, attentive, and helpful with recommendations. When our sushi arrived everything was DELICIOUS! The only problem I had all night was that it was a little TOO loud in there which made it kinda hard to hear, but otherwise, I really liked it. Def going back.

    Best Happy Hour in town

Friend of mine told me about this place having the best "Happy Hour" in town. At first I was a little skeptical because there are a few places in the city that have a really good happy hour. so I took him on it and went there after work. when I got there, the place was kicking, music was pumping, nice selection-way to go DJ and place wasn't jammed pack where you would have to push your way thru. Went to the bar and got me a drink and couldn't believe how cheap the drinks were and how good they were. the bartenders were really cool and handsome. my friend was right, you can't beat half price drinks till 9pm. the lounge area is nice. met a girl back there and kicked it to the garden. kool place to meet people. very laid back place and kool vibe and people. recommend this to anybody who's looking for good drinks and chill out spot to kickback. way to go John.....

    Great Atmosphere, Great Service

My boyfriend and I along with a group of friends ate here the other night after hearing about it from friends at work. We had a great time, the DJ was good and there was a great mix of people. Overall the food and service lived up to what my co-workers had said. It was busy when we arrived but they went out of their way to accomodate our group. I definitely recommend Bamboo 52 and will definitely be back soon!
