Bal-cious!
I get the Lamb Saag-walla and my husband gets the Chicken Tiki Masala - we share. We crave Balucci's all the time. Lately, we've been doing delivery and have no complaints. Food comes fast, hot and yummy! Cheers to India!

Service!!!!!
The food here is actually pretty good. Unfortunately I will never return because the service is absolutely poor/. Our waiter never walked over to our table, I had to talk to him from across the room. This is after I had to call him over to put in our order. He was annoyed by every request we had and was extremely rude. Being in the restaurant industry I was appalled by how we were treated. I will never return to this restaurant and I would never recommend it to anyone.

Currently, the best Indian on the UES
After the Baluchi's at 81 & 2nd closed, we began going to this one at 89th. It's much smaller inside but the food is delicious and the waitstaff is very attentive, polite, etc. At this Baluchi's the owner himself will often help out with the service and make sure you like the meal. I thought it was a nice touch. Highly recommended

Not The Best on the UES
The food was okay. I've tried another indian restaurant on the upper east side that was better. The food there doesn't have enough flavor; it is rather bland. As a chinese guy with an Indian girlfriend, i have to say that this food wasn't as great as I expected. Although, the paneer is okay.

Don't order from here Saturday morning
We order often from this Baluchi's. The food is usually quite good and reasonably priced. On Saturdays, though, especially around lunch time, there is a marked decline in the food quality. All the dishes seem to be reheated. The chicken was dry, the samosas too oily.

Best on UES
So this is the 4th indian place i've tried on the upper east side. so far, it's the best one. i went for lunch, which is an incredible deal! the chana masala is sooo delicious! the nan was only par. chicken tika masala was easily the best on the UES, altho i'd says it's good (not great) overall a little heavy on the salt. the service, however, was not good! slow, i was almost done with my meal before my beverage came; the same beverage i ordered before i ordered my meal. atmosphere is good only if you are going there for lunch by yourself, otherwise, i'd say takeout. i'm going to try the only in the 80's and second next. looks bigger.

Yum
I've eaten at several Baluchi's in the downtown area, and I definitely find that the 2nd ave. east village location is the best one. Everytime I've been there the food has consistantly been really great. I also like the intimate, cozy atmosphere; it's well suited to the area.
