some dishes are good
This is our favorite Indian in the neighborhood (and we have tried several). Not everything is good (not the chicken tikka masala for instance) but the lamb biriyani and lamb rogan josh are great. We only order for take out and the service has been OK for us. Takes a little while but it is not unreasonable (and we live quite a few blocks away). Give it a try and see if they do your favorite dishes OK.

Wont advise takeout
I had extremely poor experience with take out from Baluchi. The server messed up the order completely, dishes were missing. The staff was not able to rectify the mistakes seamlessly. It doesnt seem like a well run operation. I would recommend lunch - its a good deal. Food is good when you sit in.

restaurant? i think not
I'm Indian and so is my finance. He liked the butter chicken, but I think its good if you eat it only once and never again. The chicken biryani is not good. What kind of indian restuarant doesnt know how to make chicken biryani?

Fast, delicious delivery
I ordered delivery here and it arrived in less than thirty minutes, piping hot. I'm very impressed with my appetizer and my entree yummy flavor. I'll definitely be ordering from here again.

solid but a bit too spicy
Good quality, large portions, fair prices it's hard to complain about Baluchi's the than to say people lie me who don't like spicy food should ask the kitchen to tone it down. The tandoori lamb was a very pleasant surprise with four lamb chops beautifully charred and cooked in a delicious, albeit a bit spicy sauce. I wish they'd put tandoori shrimp on this menu as it is a favorite of mine. The aloo gobi (potato and cauliflower) and bartha (pureed eggplant) dishes are quite good, but again spicey.

Great Cheap Indian Lunch
Brought a colleague from India to this restaurant and he was thrilled to taste food that reminded him of home! Had the chicken makhani (delicious - but got a bad piece of chicken), my colleague had the aloo gobi and was in heaven. It made for a great cheap lunch - but make sure you get there early - lines will form and they are not shy to rush you out.

Good decor, smallish portions
Went to dinner last night and enjoyed the atmosphere, the chandeliers were very pretty and they had live music, which was nice. Ordered Ka-Chori for an appetizer and enjoyed the unique flavors. The main course portions were a bit small, but the food was tasty and flavorful. My husband had the lamb chops and they were excellent, I had the Chicken Jalfrezie, also very good. But just a bit on the smaller side considering the price per dish. Overall a very good restaurant.
