bad choice
We ordered from Baluchi's for the first time today and it will definitely be the last. I wish we had read the reviews before ordering! We waited over an hour for the food to arrive and when we called to inquire, we were told that the delivery guy was on his way. An hour and a half later we call back and they say he's in the building. While speaking to "the waiter" (apparently there wasn't a manager to speak with) for a good 5 minutes, the delivery guy still hadn't made his way up to our door. We inquired about a discount and his only reply was next time. Unfortunately for you, there won't be a next time. Finally the food arrives almost 2 hours later and it's average. Definitely not worth a 2 hour wait. We'll have to stick to Basera...it's never a disappointment.

Poorest delivery service in the area
All three times I've ordered from them the food took over an hour to arrive (despite being less than 4 blocks away) with numerous phone calls trying to track the order down. Not worth the hassle for the price and quality of food.

Subpar Indian Food, They are rude
I took my wife there a few weeks ago and my bill came up 60$. I left about 12$ tip and the guy had the gall to ask me for more?.... i have been to bad restaurants but Baluchi is all about money, their portions are too small and the waiters stand and watch you as you eat. Dont go , skip on this restaurant. Go to Basera

A monkey could cook better curry
As my first Indian dining experience in New York, I am amazed how disappointing this was. The food was served far too quickly to be fresh, and tasted like it was made from a jar. The service was unfriendly, the prices were too high considering the quality of food, and the chicken had gristle in it. Little surprise it was so empty. Stay away.

Service going from bad to horrible...
Just went back to Baluchi's after a long time with some friends - subpar service, and after I complained, they gave themselves a huge tip on the bill when I asked for the cheque. Tiny portions - have shrunk over the past few months. Will never go back again.

small portions / rice not included / expensive drinks
We have been to many Indian resturaunts but have never left one feeling ripped off until we visited the place. First of all the resturaunt was almost empty on a Friday night. Next we ordered a chicken appetizer, my wife asked if it was white meat the waiter said yes. When we received the bill we were charged $2 extra for white meat. We spoke with the maitre de, he siad that the menu clearly state that there is a $2 surcharge for white meat. I asked why would the surcharge would be the same for an appetizer as for a dinner. In the end $10.95 for 4 cube of chicken is a rippoff. The maitre de told us if we didn't like it we didn't have to come back. Thus I know why they were empty on a Fridaynight. $3.95 for a soda, no rice with dinner, small portions, and bad service make this place a bad deal. Do your self a fovor skip this place.
