Pathetic Excuse for Indian food
Asked for Chicken Tikka Entree size - In addition to paying 17.90 for it, which is more than any other item on the menu. Even the Lamb!! I paid 2.00 more WHITE MEAT. So, 19.90 for CHICKEN TIKKA. What I received was a pathetic excuse for portion size for the price AND thigh meat, which is NOT considered white meat. In addition I ordered a green salad and received the poorest excuse ever! hacked up tomatoes, thick chunks of white onion, mushy cukes - like they were frozen before and a mish mash of carrots of vairied sizes from thin slivers to 1" chunks. FOR 5.95 and no "house" dressing. The order total was 61.25 plus delivery tip. Next time, I'll order from Surya. Their food is incredible, maybe the same price, but much more for the price ....STAY AWAY - what a ripoff. I fed the thigh meat to the dogs.

Absolutely Subpar
Delivery is ridiculously fast, but the food is absolutely horrendous. I accidentally ordered from this location meaning to order from the West 3rd one (which is amazing, consistently) and was horribly disappointed. The chicken tikka masala was almost inedible.

Take out was great!
I tried the 6th ave location first and was really happy with the quality of the food. I then noticed that the w.3rd street location had more stars and a better review, so I called them the next time. I thought that the food was much better from 6th avenue! Everything was really delicious.

Consistently Bad Service
Since I like the other branches of this chain, I keep giving this one more chances to redeem itself...but I give up. The service is consistently slow - regardless of whether the place is busy or not. And if a large party (or a large couple eating for 6) come in at the same time, you are invisible. I am past weary of having to nearly beg for a check, and then being greeted with irritation for doing so. The food is decent (nothing special) and sometimes the portions are so small that it's laughable, like a whopping total of 3 chunks of chicken in a chicken with sauce dish!

Baluchi's gets it right!
I've eaten at Baluchi's three times over my last two trips to New York and its food, like that of quite a few New York restaurants, is a refreshing change from what is all too often served up across the United States. Quantity does not equal quality but too many American restaurants have their primary focus on the former. I once took a photo of a ridiculously thick and predictably tasteless turkey sandwich in a New York diner just to show friends how bad it really was and the poor waiter thought I was actually impressed by what was on the plate before me. I couldn't explain that many visitors to the United States are either perversely amused or just plain disgusted by the sheer volume of food many Americans consume without as much as a second thought. Baluchi's, however, has it right. Good food with authentic flavors and all at the right price without the bizarre need to provide customers with “American-sized” servings. Go there and enjoy some of the best Indian food you'll ever taste!

Blah
I ate here during the week and was not impressed with the overall quality of food. The service was fantastic but the entrees were ordinary. It wasn't terrible but it also was far from great.

Brilliant - Look no Further!
I ordered for delivery from Baluchi's with some hesitation. Chain restaurants usually end up falling into the fast food category with low attention to quality. However, I was so amazed and delighted, I put down my fork and had to write this review. LOOK NO FURTHER. This is a wonderful meal, fresh ingrediants, light Indian fare (without that oily heavy characteristic of most mid to low priced restaurants, even high priced ones actually). I usually order from places in my neighborhoos, but must say, this is now at the top of my list (sorry to the formers). Well-mannered and considerate delivery guy, excellent quick service and food is 5 star. Must experience this first hand, so open up that menu, and start ordering! You won't be disappointed!
