    Love going back

I've been here twice so far and plan to go back for brunch soon. Both times have been enjoyable- food is delicious, waitstaff is attentive, and celebrities are abundant! It was pretty loud though, more a work meeting or friends restaurant than a date restaurant.

    Amazing

We've been testing a lot of New York places and Balthazar is hands down the best food, service and atmosphere, and price all in one. When we entered we were sat promptly and graciously. None of that over the top New York you're not cool enough to be eating here. Our server and his assistant were very attentive and the food was fantastic. The whole scene is a must do for anyone living here or just visiting.

    A Grand Lunch Experience

We were in NYC in December, 2005. Our first day we planned lunch at Balthazar. Arrinving early was a plus. We were nearly the first ones there and 30 minutes later it was packed full of people. Atmosphere is great and food fabulous. It will be added to our list of top places to eat lunch.

Simply the best restaurant in NYC

This place never fails to disappoint. As it has become an NYC institution, they are suprisingly adept at breakfast, brunch, lunch AND dinner...AND drinks...AND seafood..AND their bakery items. The atmosphere is simply amazing, you feel like you are in Paris, and on the weekends there is almost always a celebrity there. Highly recommend. If you go one place in NYC, go here.

    Great Atmosphere!

I felt like I was in Paris. We had a corner table and "people watched" as we ate the magnificent food. I can't wait to go back!

    Fantastic food, service and wine

After visiting New York i must add to this review section. Balthazar was a fantastic place to dine and it's a shame you only rate it out of 5 as i would give it 10 out of 10.

    One of my favorites...

The food was wonderful on my visit to Balthazar. The seafood tower is not to be missed and the trout is extremely flavorful as well! The service was very slow that evening, which isn't usually the norm, but the general manager made up for the delay by bringing out complimentary glasses of champagne and desserts for the whole table at the end of the meal. This restaurant is not to be missed!
