    Mojito?!

I Love Mojitos. My friend and I go to different places to try to figure out who's got the best... Balthazar is definitely up there. It's not your traditional Cuban style, but it is done delicately- I believe with both dark and light rum- and it is taaasty. Of course, Balthazar is known for other things- the steak frites, the lamb stew (remarkable), etc... but let it be said that this place rivals the best of 'em when it comes down to mojitos.

    My favorite

Hands down my favorite resturant ever, everything i've ever had here was delicious. If only it wasn't always so crowded so I could go more often . . try everything (esp bread basket and CHOCOLATE BREAD), waffles, salad nicoise ... ::sigh:: so good, always so so good. always worth every penny and every minute of waiting

    Save me a seat...

Balthazar is noisy, busy, beautiful and the best place east of Paris. The goat cheese tart is simply delicious! The staff was helpful and pleasant. Save me a seat anytime!

    Overcrowded

Went on Sunday for brunch-lunch. Place was overcrowded and noisy. Seafood and bread was very good. Skip the pasta dishes. Left the place not very impressed. I might want to give it another try before deciding!

    Overall Pretty Good

I had a good meal here. Cheeseburger and Fries, was pretty good. I also ordered the Balthazar Salad. (Just okay), Not great. Creme Brulee, was also pretty good, although the burnt sugar looked great, it tasted well burned, but once I scraped that off, the soft creme underneath, was just supreme. And the Cappucino was great. Don't think I'll be eating here again, just too expensive, and too crowded. I got seated on a Saturday Afternoon at 2 ish, immediately. But I was seated so closely to strangers. Food was good.

    Exceptional

I've been about 20 times... the food is exceptional... it is worth the wait, the crowd, the noise... try the onion soup, beef for 2, the skate and of course the deserts!

    Wonderful brunch destination

I went with a few friends for brunch on Sunday and since we didn't have a reservation, we waited for an hour before getting seated (no worries, SoHo offers plenty to do in that hour)! We ordered the bread basket which was delicious (especially the chocolate bread), and I ordered the egg bella donna which was PERFECT! It was poached to perfection, and garnished with just the right amount of cheese, sundried tomato, bacon, and greens. Other friends ordered the steak and the waffle which they also loved. Definitely going back and bringing people!
