A Delicious Development: Korean Food with a Nouveau Twist
As long as you go in knowing that this is more nouveau Korean or Korean fusion (rather than authentic cuisine), Bak is a great place to dine. They put new twists on old favorites, with interesting flavors. The tacos appear to be a twist on 'ssam' and had great flavors. Skip any of the 'jeons', which were bland. Thankfully, they kept the 'tteokbokee' recipe traditional and is a delicious order. Aside from the food, true to the name, Bak has an impressive beer selection. Beyond that, I loved the eclectic atmosphere, created by combining ancient Korean drawings with beer hall quotes. My only complaint is that this place is indeed very expensive and I cannot rationalize dining at such a high-priced restaurant where the food is good but not authentic. Still, it's worth hitting up every once in a while with new friends for its uniqueness and beer selection.

Reasonable place, great food!
After spending a summer in Korea a couple years ago, I've been trying to find good places that can actually give me something of the caliber I had while I was there. BAK came pretty darn close, the restaurant has a great vibe, good beer selection (some of it quite pricey), and the food was great. The bulgogi bibimbap is my recommendation. Once it started to get busier, the service slacked a bit, but overall it was a great time! I'd definitely go back and recommend it to others.

Comfy and spacious local spot
I came here once I realized that DoSirak is no longer :( While I'm still sad that DoSirak isn't there anymore, this new space across the street is quite an impressive upgrade. The beer selection is excellent, and the staff is attentive and knowledgeable. I just had some dumplings and small plates, which were all tasty. I'll definitely be back to try the bulgogi and bibimpap. The decor, food and beer selection make for a solid local spot.
