The smell of the baking bagels along with the signs stating they're hand rolled and baked on premises enticed me to go inside and order. I was disappointed, the bagels are doughy and too big. I was hoping for a bagel from the old New York with the hole being the size of who rolled it because it was around their fingers and not overly doughy. Furthermore the bagel had no taste and it's crust was not crisp. I ordered a whole wheat, plain and everything and ripped into them right away and each was lacking flavor and simply ho-hum. Next door the bagels had more flavor, a nice crisp crust albeit also too doughy. My search continues for a throwback, handmade New York bagel!

a Flat Bagel costs $1.50 add cream cheese......the price rockets to...$3.25. $1.75 for some cream cheese?? Are you kidding me? Buy your bagels at this place then cross the street to Gristedes. You can get a 8oz package of Cream Cheese for$2.00 or just go to Dunkin next door....$2.00 in total. Try to help out the Mom and Pop shop and they rob you. I'm done. I'll get it elsewhere.

Great bagels spreads and salads. Muffins are also very good. They bake in front of you so I usually get a hot bagel on weekend mornings. This place is a gem.

i've been here twice recently and the bagels are still the best. amazingly good actually. .not sure what these other reviews are referring to.

I agree with previous reviewer that they used to make excellent bagels which made the crowded store front tolerable. We just went back and they sold us day-old plain bagels at 8am on a Sunday. I used to be a regular customer and will never return.

Major Downhill Alert! This place used to make the BEST bagels. Sadly not anymore. The last few times I went (and I go bright and early) all the bagels have been inedible. They must have changed bakers. What a shame they used to be so good.
