Yes you get what you pay for, but that doesn't excuse the rudeness you are guaranteed to be greeted with. The only way to worsen the experience is to order delivery. Be warned. If you don't like people being short with you, insulting and not consumer-is-always-right oriented then this is definitely not the place for you.

I have ordered balgels from BE many times and it always delivered quality products. For those complaining about service, what are you whining about? This is not a five star restaurant. You get what you pay for.

Used to love ordering from this place. Used to have friendly service, which they are clearly no longer interested in having. They actually called back to say they would not deliver 7 blocks away. The past few orders have also taken well over 45 minutes. The food is still decent but not worth the hassle for delivery.

This place has some of the freshest and most delicious smoked salmon in all of NY!!! Just thinking about it is making me salivate! They have a great deal where you buy 1/4 lb of smoked salmon and get 4 bagels free. You can't go wrong with that. Everything else I've ordered here has been delicious, and the shrimp salad is incredibly fresh and tasty (not at all like the tasteless crap you'll find in the supermarket). They have a great selection of bagels too...everything from blueberry to egg.

I loved this place, quick service, quick delivery and the person (people) taking the phone orders were polite. This morning was the final confirmation that service is no longer something Bagel Express is interested in. I don't know with whom I spoke, but he could not have been more rude. Clearly they have enough business that they can treat long time customers poorly. If you enjoy being treated poorly, with poor phone service and rude behavior, this is the place for you.

I have read many of the reviews and can't believe that so many people like the bagels. I have lived in NYC all of my life, Brooklyn then Queens and now Manhattan. The bagel was invented by my people, lol. I consider myself an expert on how a bagel should be. The bagels here are way to puffy. Bagels should be dense with a crusty, shiny outside. I come here only for convenience. I find the service hit and miss.

The most ambigious line i have ever encountered. The establishment takes on the likes of a bazaar where there is little to no method in exchange of payment. However, frequent walk of shame sightings while standing in line makes waiting well worth the hassle.
