I worked one Avenue away from Bagel Express, and it is basically our agency's cafeteria. Delivery can be slow, but take out is great. Large selection of bagels, yummy cream cheese. The sandwiches are basic, but great. The pasta/chicken salad is good too. The staff know their regular customers and aim to please.

Sadly, this is one of the only places to grab a bagel nearby. But if you can make it, go somewhere else. We waited in line for 20 minutes for two bagels with cream cheese. When people after us started getting served, we asked about our order. The guy behind the counter said it was not his problem that we had not gotten our food and we should move out of the way. I will not be returning....

Don't expect mind-blowing fare at Bagel Express. Their salads and extensive selection of bagels are typical, but good quality and relatively inexpensive. Again, not the greatest place (the service could especially use some work), but simple and cheap is just what you need for a weekday morning or light snack.

The food here is good for a bagel place, but don't order delivery. Take out you still wait in a long line, but at least the lines move. Delivery service takes an hour, on average, for a small order. It is utterly ridiculous...

Food is great! But don't ask for delivery they are always an hour or so to deliver few items...and if they don't like the tip they tell you in mexican very rude no mannes!!

Seems like other reviewers expect fawning service better suited to Ducasse. Whether in the shop or over the phone for delivery, the folks who word here have always been pleasant. There's always a line out the door and 15 people on hold with phone orders, so they may be brusque and efficient so that all are served in a timely manner. Whenever I order, they never fail to throw in an extra cookie or chocolate bar or some other treat. The bagels are fine. And above all, it's really cheap.

Yes you get what you pay for, but that doesn't excuse the rudeness you are guaranteed to be greeted with. The only way to worsen the experience is to order delivery. Be warned. If you don't like people being short with you, insulting and not consumer-is-always-right oriented then this is definitely not the place for you.
