Four customers, five people working behind the counter, and it takes 10 minutes to get a non-toasted bagel with cream cheese and get out of there. Perhaps if they paid more attention to the customers instead of talking to each other it might go faster. They make themselves look busy by scurrying around, but they're not getting anywhere or doing anything. Then everything bottlenecks at the cashier who has her back turned to the customers as she's wiping down the coffee machine. Similar experiences in the past. Not worth putting up with this for average food.

Today I called the bagel store at 6:03 a.m. to place an order for 7:20 am that same day. I decided to treat my teachers to bagels before vacation. Well, in the pours of rain, I make my way there and low and behold, when I got there, the manager tells me that there needs to be 20 mins more. I didn't have 20 mins and I told him if he couldn't fill the order, then he should have told me that at 6 am. He grumbled something under his breath and was not budging on the order. So, I walked out of the door, called a place on the UWS and had bagels delivered to my school. All before I even got there! I guess my love affair with Bagels Express is OVA!

Called asking about delivery 5 blocks away. Man doesn't even say anything, puts down phone...doesn't put me on hold, so I think he's asking about delivery zones. Comes back on, barks at me for delivery order. I calmly explain that I've been waiting on hold for 3 minutes to ask about delivery zones. He yells our delivery zone is blah blah blah. Then laughs at me. I hope this place realizes that customer service is key.

I'm a health freak, and the pickiest eater on the planet when it comes to food service industry making my order correctly! that being said I live down the street and went there for thefirst time today. They have over a dozen varieties of cream cheese including strawberry, tofu, low fat options, there's literally something for everyone. On top of their great topping, sides, and salad selection they had.... Wait for it... Whole Wheat Everything Bagels that were big and delicious and so so soft and tasty! Okay I'm getting carried away here but clearly I have a new love affair with Bagel Express.

This could be the best bagel shop on the UES if they could just be a bit pleasant and if they could just get the order right! I live across the street and come here at least once a week and 9 times out of 10 my order is incorrect. The bagels are excellent, they make great egg sandwiches and breakfast platters and great lunch sandwiches, but you always have to check your order before you leave, and you get attitude when you tell them it's wrong. I think they just try to go too fast and don't pay attention.
