Not what I expected and heard
The table they sat us at was way too small....the wait staff was not attentive at all.....and the food portions are why too small.

Subpar Experience
First we met a door-man that forced us to step out without good words (first impression). Second, he asked if we had reservation, if we knew the Bagatelle Owner or we did intend to buy a bottle. As none of these options were our decision (we just came in to have lunch and listen good music) the door man did not allow us to go in. To my mind it’s not a matter if you have money or not to afford that place it’s a matter to tip de door-man so he can let you go in. Bagatelle should put an Advise in its website: If you do not have reservation, if you do not know the Owner, if you do not want to tip the door-man and if you do not intend to buy any bottle service don’t come to this place. Will be useless. You will not get in!

Has Been Spot
Looks like this spot has turned into another has been. It really is not that hard to get a table, and the hot chicks don't don this place "no mo'". The food is okay, the music used to be great. There saturday party gets waaaayyyy to crowded to have fun

Eat with the Rich and the shameless
Good place for brunch, but stay away from the drinks which are ridiculously over priced. Snobby people, cool decor, weird rich people, but hey this is the meatpacking district and it makes things interesting. Food was prepared well and nice portions. Overall I like Bagatelle

Food and fun
I love this place... It can be hard to get a table but if you know the right people it's not a problem. Great food and atmosphere!

don't bother to make a reservation
we had a 10:30 reservation last saturday for a party of 4.. it was 11:45pm when we decided to go to Spice Market because we were starving and they still didn't have our table ready.. since we got there all the stuff kept saying was that it would take 10 to 15 minutes to get our table ready.. after almost and hour and a half we decided to leave... If they are going to have you waiting even though you've booked a reservation the least they can do is offer you a glass of wine or something or at least tell you they will be having you waiting for almost 2 hours so you can choose to leave.

Just subpar
Stumbled on this "good looking" restaurant and decided to give it a try. Almost all other places in the meatpacking district were solidly packed because of the Food & Wine Festival...this place was empty and that should have been a definite sign. The waiter decided to skip the specials when he took our order (I know this because I overheard him telling the table next to us). The highlight of the meal was when I ordered the sea bass as an entree. I am allergic to most seafood/shellfish and so am - obviously - very carefull when reading menus. When my entree came there was something on the plate that looked odd to me. When I asked the waiter what it was he told me calamari. When I told him that I was allergic and that the description of the dish on the menu most definitely did not include calamari, he told me he would check the menu. I informed him that he did not need to do that - I was certain I was right. He replaced my dish with one without the calamari, but everything on the plate was cold and he never even apologized or mentioned checking the menu. I agree with all the previous reviews... there are so many great places to go - this place is subparl and full of attitude!!
