Fine now, but will find their footing...

The food is good to very good. The prices are low, but not really, but they are fair. Great ingredients cost a lot, so you can charge less if the portions are a bit smaller. Ok, now with that out of the way.... The bar list, drinks, beer & wine is very eclectic, interesting, and very good. The beers are not Bud & PBR, but there is something for everyone's taste. Wine is red or white - simple and good. There is a full bar for everything else including some fun signature cocktails. The menu is based on fresh in the market. The trout was rich and flavorful. We saw someone at another table looking at the fish's size and making a comment. Trout is not a very big fish to begin with and this piece was plenty for my wife. The trout is $16. You want big, go to Red Lobster, you want great & more go and pay $28+ The fish was a nice portion. The burger was very tasty. The homemade ketchup was really good and allot of other attempts at homemade ketchup paled in comparison to Heinz, but this was really good. The burger comes with house made pickles, two slices of tomato & a nice piece of crisp butter lettuce. The burger is $10 and is about 6 ounces. Enough. $2 for aged cheddar or two slices of farm bacon. Worth it if you want it. At the same table that was complaining about the size of the trout, we saw another guy complain about the size of the BLT & that there was more lettuce & tomato than bacon. Now $12 is not cheap for a BLT, but farm fresh bacon isn't either. We didn't have the sandwich, but you want a bigger BLT, go to Subway & they have a 12" for $8, but I think it will not be the same quality. The veggie sides were good to very good. The cauliflower gratin was deceptively rich and filling. The Brussels sprouts were a bit too hard, but still very tasty. The onion rings are no longer available (we were looking forward to those), but they had squash done in rings like tempura with a nice sauce on the side. Very good. The fries with rosemary sea salt were good, but many were a little limp from steaming themselves, a little cool off before plating will solve that. The desserts are a work in progress, but if the apple pie is any indication, they will have a bunch of winners on their hands. Absolutely delicious. And they use Labortorio Gelato vanilla ice cream, yum. The coffee was fair trade & strong - very tasty too. The service could not be nicer - from head to wait staff... We will be back.

It's fine, but not better than that

Went with a friend last night. It's a nice place and the servers are friendly. Other than that it doesn't have a lot going for it. Granted, it was their second day, so it's possible they'll improve everything, but we had 5 dishes and all were mediocre other than the burger, which was very good. However, the burger for $10 (with cheese for $13) doesn't come with fries. They're $6 extra. So it's a $19 cheeseburger and not worth it. I have no problem spending that on a great cheeseburger. This was not worth it. Other than that the food was fine but not very tasty. Wasn't bad, just nothing special. Give it some time, maybe it'll get better. It does have potential.
