i love this place so very much

when it's spring or summer, or even autumn, and the outdoor back patio is open, please do yourself a service and get a table there. service may be a bit slow, but they are kind and considerate. i recently took a date here who claimed he'd yet to find "good italian food in new york." as he was a european, i was afraid he'd be difficult to find. but no! he adored the bread, which is top notch, freshly baked, chewy and crusty. we shared the grilled seafood salad it was absolutely gorgeous. he was happy with his pizza, and i was just sad that i didn't order my usual paparedelle with lamb ragu, opting for a special instead. what i've learned is, if the special is a meat: GET IT. if the special is vegetarian based, don't. their regular offerings are always amazing. recent additions are the oxtail ravioli (A+) and the carbonara (A). i am usually so stuffed that i can't even consider ordering a dessert. after all the food and wine (always decently priced), why bother? go home and bask in the haze of happiness.

    really good.

Had dinner here last night. It was really good. We have eaten here about 20 times and it is always really good. I think they make one of the best brick oven pizzas in Brooklyn - plate sized, a little chared on the bottom. yum.

    F-ING Amazing!!!

let me just say this is one of the best Italian joints around! Every time we go here we always have a great experience! Each bite is truly an orgasm in your mouth, and we find ourselves making moaning noises with out even realizing it! Ooops! You can't go wrong with what ever you eat. All the food is fresh and packing with flavor. The pizzas and calzones we can't get enough of and the pasta are all fresh and made there. If your a fan of tasty cocktails, then you'll be happy! And last but not least, the service and staff are excellent! The owners all always welcoming and gracious. And all of this is why we love supporting this jewel of Brooklyn.

    Incredible Food and Service

We have eaten at B&A probably 50 times. We come back again and again because of the impeccable service and amazing food. I think in all the times we have eaten here, we probably had 2 bad meals and it was only because we showed up really late. They make the best lasagna, but we really come here to try their tasty daily specials. The owners are so so so nice and that makes for a very enjoyable meal. Great for friends and for romance.

    Molto disappointing

What a truly disappointing experience. I love Italian food and eat it at least once a week. I look for simplicity, fresh ingredients cooked well and wonderful the wonderful tastes that are the essence of Italian cuisine. Unfortunately, the meal here was simply tasteless. We ordered chicken & sausages, the beet gnocchi and a few salads. It's hard to make a bland dish using sausages as a primary ingredient, but B&A succeeded. After looking forward to eating here, I am sure that it was the first and last time.

    comfortable, stylish, affordable

if you're looking for a comfortable, stylish and affordable restaurant in williamsburg, this place is it. the minimalist decor is simple and sleek, but in a way that's inviting and warm, and the outdoor patio area is really great for the summer. the food is not outstanding, but it's tasty and satisfying. a great place for a night out without breaking the bank.
