I ordered the Fried Chicken and the side dishes were smashed sweet potatoes and greens. The food was done and reasonably hot. However, the chicken was bland with little seasoning to taste Southern style. The sweet potatos were not so sweet but average and the greens were not that tasty. All things considered the dinner was average, over-priced, and nothing to shout about to the world. I would consider ordering a different dish if I by chance wanted to return. The cook should study the cooking style of Paula Deen then present the food as Southern.

My fiance' and I went here for dinner and the food was delicious. The food is truly eclectic and "new" soul food as you would call it. Be prepared to have your credit card ready, because the food is somewhat expensive compared to other soul food restaurants like the Sharkbar, Soul Cafe, Virgil's, Justin's, etc. Service was excellent and so was the atmosphere. A perfect place to impress a date or just to enjoy upscale soul food.

Anyone that appreciates fine dining will love B. Smith. B's presence adds a classier touch to the restaurant if that's possible. A great experience.
