    Not Southern, Too Tight...

Hey yall, I went to B.Smiths on a friday night. The food was ok, Very pricey. The seating is so tight and uncomfortable. Our waitress was a not very good. This place did remind me the south. There wasn't any southern food that I know of there. My guest thought t was an asian restaurant.. I would never go there again....Expensive for no reason at all....

    Great Food and Service

Wonderful atmosphere. Waiter very friendly and informative. Food arrived in timely manner. Food was great. Nice crowd. Worth the price being that it's in Manhattan on Restuarant Row. Excellent host.

    What a nice dinner!!

We went to B.Smith's as a group of 11 and I can't even begin to tell you what a good time we had!! I think besides the food being so wonderful, that the staff was even better!! Loved everything about the place!! I had the Swamp Thang which was fantastic and my daughter had the Southern Chicken in which she said is the best she has ever had and she knows her chicken!! Loved the greens as they were just right if you have ever had homemade ones in the south. The drinks we had were present by our waiter with such fun!! I will go back there if I ever get back to NYC!! Top Notch!!

    A good birthday outing..

My younger sister took me here for my birthday and upon first arriving the host was very cordial and welcoming. She seated us at a nice quiet corner table. We were a bit alarmed that there were not many people there, but that soon changed. The atmosphere was relaxing, mellow music filled the background and our waiter was GREAT. I enjoyed the Teriyaki Salmon with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Kale. The salmon was cooked just right. I have to say the highlight for me was dessert, I had the Bread Pudding it was a hit. It was served with a scoop of Ice cream and a strawberry on the side. The presentation was beautiful. This bread pudding was unlike any I’ve ever tasted. It melted in my mouth and the warmth of the bread pudding with coolness of the ice cream went down so well. It soothed my soul. I highly recommend it! The only disappointment for the evening was my sister not seeing cornbread on the menus. Only to later find out they did have cornbread.

    Vegetarians take a pass

I took a meat eating friend there for his birthday. There were several vegetarian options on the menu, so I thought this place would be a good choice. First of all…that was not “soul-like” food. I asked what the most popular vegetarian item is and the waiter said the veggie ribs. Well…the veggie ribs were Gardenburger riblets (I do like them)…however, not for $20+ dollars at a restaurant. I can make that at home for $5. I was not impressed at all. My meat eating friend did like his food.

    Perfect

I went there for dinner with my boyfriend on May 25th before a show. The location being the main reason we chose this place, but we also viewed the menu online and were looking foward to the ecclectic selections. We were not dissappointed. We split the calamari appetizer and a salad. Both were very good, but how can you really go wrong with those. I ordered the tandori shrimp, It was delicious. My date ordered the sea bass which was also great. One of the best aspects of this place is the service. I'm a registered dietitian. Therefore I have a background in cuisine and food and fine dining are one of my favorite hobbys. However, as a young couple we often don't recieve the same service as others, we have noticed. This did not occur here. The staff was attentive, my wine glass was never empty, and they seemed to anticipate our needs. All in all it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend it.
