    Recommendations

My suggestions are. Split pea soup with buttered hallah bread. Tuna melt, periogie , spinach are great. Get sour cream and fried onions on the side. And your choice of boiled or fried style. French toast is awesome .

    Wow great place to eat!

I am from out of town but was told by a friend I had to go to B &H and I did. I would recommend to anyone who loves to eat! Excellent omelette an dgreat bread that was homemade. Don't miss this place!

    delivery...

I'll skip the usual stuff you'll read in most reviews--I do like to go into B&H for the comfort food, good value, and friendly staff. However, when I was sick and called for delivery, they told me that I was too far -- I'm 1.5 avenues and 6 blocks away. My Jewish momma would not be proud.

    An East Village Staple

Whoever says, "not the best" has no clue what he's talking about! This place is AMAZING! I never leave reviews but I have to for this little place! I've been enjoying it for years! It's an old fashioned diner so to speak and while the decor is no frills the food is fresh and homemade! Where else could you get such a hearty bowl of soup with a delicious side of challah bread probably baked just a few hours ago, all within a price point that is unbeatable by any other place that I can think of! This place is a true gem. It's like stepping back in time and being a served a real plate of food that maybe your grandmother made from scratch! I love this place, it's a hidden in plain site East Village fixture and I hope they stay there forever! Id someone were to say, "They wouldn't recommend to a friend" I would say that somebody must not have any friends! I guess he just didn't get it but I do and based on the star ratings I'm not alone! Can't wait togo there, I may just go have a bowl of soup there tomorrow! I really do love this place and although they don't have a traditional facebook page I found them on there anyway and just added them to my "Likes" to bad there's not a LOVE button because I LoVE B & H!

    Not the best

Good service, although much of the equipment looks very old to the point where it doesn't even look that swell, the food isn't as promising as some other shops on first and second avenue either, a nice little place, wouldn't recommend it to a good friend though.
