I thought I was back home in Belgium!
I took my daughter to B Cafe last Sunday to have some moules mariniere and frites. They were absolutely wonderful ,as were the desserts. The service was great and the decor really reminded us of Belgium. I will be back this weekend!

Neat Little Attmosphere
This place is a gem and will be here for a long time. From entry to exit I have always had a fabulous time here. The beer selection is top notch and in true Belgian tradition all served in the appropriate glass. The food is gourmet yet with a comfortable feel. The perfect marriage between the delicious beers and food served makes this a new favorite. I would come here with friends to drink as well as come with family or clients to impress. The owner is a true gentleman and I wish he and his wife the best of luck with the birth of their child. I recommend B Cafe highly.

Great Belgian place in UES!!
Great food and atmosphere!! Excellent service, very friendly belgian staff. . We felt like we were dining in Brussels!! We started with the grill pepper & salt shrimp, and the belgian cured salmon, they melted in our mouths! Their beer selection is extensive! We tried the Rochefort 10 & Chimay Blue ,dark trappiste beers made by the monks, they both tasted super for our palate! We ended with the belgian waffle and the molten chocolate cake, what can I say about it?Nothing was left!!. They have a large garden in the back, great place for parties and graduations..etc. Thank you B. Cafe for our wonderful belgian experience, we will be back for sure!!

Mixed review!
I have had six meals at B. Cafe since it opened. The first five were first rate, the last, a big disappointment. Granted, it was Saturday night and the restaurant was very crowded, My steak was overcooked, the bitter ballen were not the authentic ones that I had enjoyed in earlier visits. I don't recall which dish my partner ordered, I do remember his "forgettable" comment when i questioned him.

Great place
One of my favorite places in the city, B cafe has it all. Great food, great beer and great service. Everyone here is friendly and helpful. The duck sandwich is unbelievable, among other things. Frites and moules are also a must. One of the best, if not the best Belgian beer selection I've seen anywhere. Everything I've ever had here is delicious.

Had a lovely meal at B. Cafe (UES)
Had a lovely meal at this new Belgian bistro on 75th St. I tasted the burger (even tho medium well)and had plenty of flavor. I had mussels (wine, vegetable broth) with delicious frites with 2 mayo based dipping sauces and ketchup. Mussels were of a good size and delish. Shared a chicken spring roll with a blue cheese sauce. Service was friendly, but polite. I will be back!

Most Authentic Belgian Restaurant
In summary: B. Café is the only establishment in North America that delivers the true Belgian café experience. For your information, I am Belgian, now living in Seattle. We ordered the shrimp croquettes and "bitter ballen" as appetizers to go with our Hoegaarden. Both dishes were excellent, and very authentic. The beer was served in the appropriate Hoegaarden glass, and at the perfect temperature. As our main main course, we ordered the steak frites and the moules provençales (mussels.) The steak was of excellent quality, and exactly prepared as requested: "à point." The fries were "double fried" in the Belgian tradition. This creates the crispy crust on the outside, while keeping the inside softer. The fries were delivered at the perfect temperature. This is very important, and often overlooked by "Belgian Style" restaurants. In the Belgian tradition, mayonnaise for the fries was provided "à volonté." The moules provençales were delicious. The mussels were of the exact right size and flavor, and served in the pots they were prepared in. Fantastic. For dessert, we had the Belgian waffle and the chocolate cake. Both dishes were to die for. As you would expect from a true Belgian cafe, the beer selection at B. Café is extensive, with both Hoegaarden and Stella readily available! For those who prefer liquor, do not worry, as the bar seemed adequately stocked as well. The entire experience at B. Café is furthermore enhanced by level of detail the owners have put into B. Café, ranging from the quality of the ingredients to the way the dishes are prepared, to the Belgian accents in the decor, as well as the music . For those who speak French and/or Dutch, you will notice that even the music played at is truly Belgian. Last but not least: the service is friendly, prompt and with Belgian joie-de-vivre. Enjoy! Pros: Authentic Belgian Dishes, Excellent Service, Awesome Experience
