I was looking forward to trying out this neighborhood restaurant as I had recently come back from Brussles and loved it and the food. We had an 8:15 reservation and we arrived promptly. . Was told there would be a 15 minute wait....fine. After 1/2 hour, inquired, it would be 15 minutes longer...yet, noone asked if we wanted a drink, hors d'oeuvres....nada. Seated at about 9:15 . I was told by maitre d'/owner he would make it up to us. We each ordered a glass of wine, It came, then food (cold). No one askd if we wanted another drink. Then party of 10 arrived and was seated at table for 8...right next to my dinner companion. Any time waiter or anyone needed to come by, they knocked into her. After main course was done, waiter asked if we wanted something else to drink. Just a little late. By this time we had had enough, we asked for check. There was the wine on the bill. Owner/maitre d' asked if we wanted coffee. No, but how was he making it up to us...poor service, wine on bill. He said, "I will make it up to you next time you come in." He's definitely off the hook as I'll never go back.

We had a fantastic meal at B. Cafe...the food was amazing - the fries were terrific, as was the beef stew and the mussels with beer and garlic. The service was extremely friendly and prompt, and as fans of Belgian beer, the drinks were outstanding. We can't say enough good things about this restaurant - we were expecting a nice bite to eat at a neighborhood place, but we got so much more - a great dining experience. The ambience is terrific too, cozy without being crowded. And our dinner was about $100 - with 4 beers, two entrees, one appetizer, plus dessert and coffee, so very affordable. Highly, highly recommend it! The next time we get a babysitter, we're going back.

We had a great time at B. Cafe. Our bartender, ilya, was very knowledgeable in educating us with the large belgian beers selection they have! Our diner was something to remember, everything tasted to perfection from the bitter ballen to the Steak Frites Belgiques and let's not forget the garlic and beer mussels! They have the best frites in town, once you have them you can not stop eating! The dark belgian chocolate cake is amazingly good and melting. We will be back for sure and with more friends. We highly recommend this place!!

The type of bartender who will let you stand there for 10 mins. while he tidies up his checks or counts his tips. The food is excellent - seafood, burger, steak, fries - you name it. Beer is great too, although it is a bit pricey for the amount you get (compared to Copperfield's). They are also averse to AC, opting instead for an open front which looks very Euro-cafe but can make for a very sticky evening, especially when they have candles lit and they bring out the hot food.

We go here all the time. Rec. the beer that is expensive but really unique. Tuesday night you will get poor service and the food is not as good. Really we eat there so much we now know who is cooking and know when to eat there. When it is good it is so good. The steak frites is great but sometimes it is really not great with bad fries. The burger is great but again sometimes better than others. The place has so much charm but every now and again some person and the manager get into some argument and in a place this small, it really puts a damper on things. Overall it is really fun and though it varies we go here regularly with friends as long as we know who is cooking and who are the waiters. It is very belgian and i recommend it.

As a fellow Belgian I would like to reccomend this wonderful restaurant. The selection is good with some of the most well known Belgian dishes. The preparation and ingredients tasted as if they were bought in the local markets of Bruxelles. I would like to especially compliment the Carbonnades and the perfect mayonaise...that accompanied the perfect frites! I will definitely tell all my friends and bring them along the next time i dine with you. I also appreciated the fact we were allowed to sit and enjoy the evening...no rushing out...which is typical of eating in Belgium! That was so great! Merci beacoup pour un repas Belge A+ à New York! -zyggy

We ate her for the first time yesterday. I had the St. Bernardus beer and my boyfriend had the Trappist Rochefort #8(Highly recommended). We had the Squid rings (Calamari). They were so tender and the sundried tomato sauce was very yummy. My boyfriend had beef stew and pomme frittes....both were excellent. I couldnt keep my fork away from his dish. I had the Sesame Crusted Tuna salad which was very yummy. Then we had the Molten Chocolate cake which was wonderfullly rich. The atmosphere is very nice and everyone is friendly. It is not loud and would be a nice date spot.
