I recently went here with a small group and loved it. You have to get the small fired meatballs served in a yummy dipping sauce for an app. I didnt see it on the menu, but my sister had tried it at the bar before so we ordered 2 for the table (about 5 meatballs per order). I had the tuna which melted in my mouth, my sister got the mussels in beer, her husband got the steak tartare and my boyfriend got the steak. Everything was wonderful!! And the beer list is VERY extensive. I am not a huge fan of gauffres, but we ordered one to share for dessert and everyone raved about it. This is a must try!

I absolutely LOVE this place! From the food to the service and atmosphere. I live in the area and have dinner at the bar on my way home from work every now and again. Whenever guests come to town...that's where we'll be! I've even gotten some downtowners and UWS'ers to join me there...and they've been back on their own! I think that says a lot! :)

It's a welcome addition to a snooty Upper East Side restaurant scene. Great food, wonderful beer selection and very friendly serice. A restaurant with a real neighborhood feel, how often does this happen in New York? I recommend beef cooked in beer, mussels and waffles for dessert. Bravo!

A relatively small space but with a European bar ambiance. Delicious food. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The steak was very high quality with a tame poivre sauce. And the Belgians have long perfected the french fry. I'll be back.........frequently!

We had been here a few times before, just for beers and frites and had always said we needed to come for dinner. We went tonight, with a few friends, and B Cafe exceeded our expectations! Between the five of us, we shared the tuna tartar and pate for starters - both were amazing. We all ordered different dinners: mussels, chicken stew, beef stew, scallops, and fisherman's platter...we tried each others' and everything was hot and delicious. Then, shared the creme brulee, belgian waffle, and upside down pear tart for dessert. We had a great experience, with helpful and friendly staff with choosing beers, to excellent food and atmosphere. We definitely have a new favorite place for a special night out!

I've been to B probably about 10 times. It's a great little neighborhood spot, with amazing Belgian beer. They've recently changed their menu and raised the prices a bit, but nothing too drastic. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is great, with brick walls and dim lighting. The moules frites are always fresh, and prepared and served in the proper Belgian style, in a huge pot. And real frites. Just don't order the crab salad, it's small and overpriced. All in all, a great place to eat some real Belgian food and experiment with some great Belgian beer.

Why change a good thing ? Last time we were in B cafe was back in the fall, us and four friends, the service was excellent and the food was amazing, the specials were out of this world, Quail, Sea Scallops, Venison plus the Mussels.After we ask Daniel, who was the chef ,he told us that the chef was from Spain, we were no surprise at all, the food was really season to perfection, beautifull presentation etc. Our friends were really happy for the choice of that special dinning experience. But last week we were there for dinner with four friends and it was a whole diferent story, the service was ok and the food was cold and nothing special, we were really disapointed, after dinner we find out that the spanish chef wasn't there any more.
