hard to believe this is a 4.5 stars restaurant
Good: selection of beers. The fries. Bad? Read on. We had shrimp croquettes and the country pâté as appetizers. Mains were chicken vol-au-vent and Berkshire pork three ways: loin, sausage and pork belly. The pâté had no flavor; the bread was very good. The shrimp croquettes didn't taste of anything much and there was no discernible shrimp flavor or meat. The vol-au-vent chicken breast was overcooked and dry, the white meat with a white sauce on a white plate looked exactly like it tasted: flavorless. The Berkshire pork sausage and pork belly (an absolutely tiny amount of meat) were excellent. The biggest part, the loin, was completely overcooked, dried out and tough to cut. The mashed potatoes were not bad at all. The absolutely worst thing was that all the dishes came with various mustards (mine on both plates) which tasted like they had gone bad and smelled even worse. The smell was very annoying and I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. Towards the end of the meal even my very good beer tasted like the mustards as did the first bite of the desert we shared. I have to add that I like mustard very much and have had some from most corners of the world, including Belgium which I have visited on at least 10 occasions. I've not had not many anywhere that I didn't care for -- these were the first ones that were truly awful.

Very good neighborhood place
Very good mussels. Delicious chicken. Wonderful endive salad and bread. Gracious, welcoming service. Prices of appetizers are too high for the portion. Main dish prices are fair in price and in size. Great beers.

go for the mussels
The mussels--there must be 2 1/2 dozen are cooked perfectly, and the fries are perfect. The endive salad is excellent. The selection of beers is, too. My only complaint is that the prices for the salads and appetizers are way too high.

good beer, average food
nice outdoor patio; excellent beer; unimpressive food - the hangar steak and accompanying salad was drowned in a green pepper sauce and, while edible, was hardly worth it

Fine waitress
The waitress was excellent as was the greeter. The busboy had an attitude. The endive salad was a good size portion; the other salads were small. The beer was delicious. The place needs to turn up the air conditioner.

Very good indeed
Definitely order the mussels and fries. Absolutely delicious. The bread is excellent, and you can get a good bottle of wine for $30. The temperature is too hot which takes away from the experience. The lamb gravy was way too salty and tasted like Chef Borardee.
