    Fresh fish (optional)

We were disappointed with the fish, both cooked and raw. It's been quite awhile since that fish swam it's last lap before hitting the fry pan. The spicy tuna was too spicy, likely to coverup the freshness issue. Good service but however, we recommend you pass on this one.

    Amazing Quality for the Price

I'm a regular at this restaurant, and I've taken many of my clients here. The quality, service and atmosphere are outstanding, and the low price makes it an outstanding deal (specifically for lunch). I highly recommend this if you're looking to impress without emptying your pocket or maxing your card.

    not good

I came here for lunch with 3 other friends. None of us like what we order. Katsu Don was too salty (both the pork and the rice was soaked in soy sauce). Salmon has no taste. Fried Chicken was also too salty. I never had bad japanese foods, this has to be the only one.

    Travesty to sushi and yakitori

The wife and I chanced upon this hole in the wall while walking down 5th avenue. We were starving for sushi and stopped in as the menu outside looked good. We went inside, were seated promptly (upstairs) and ordered the Sushi AZUSA special and uni a la carte. The sushi here is quite possibly the worst that we have ever had. The fish looked like it was hacked up with a chain saw and it was as unappetizing as it looked. As a sushi lover, I discourage you from eating at this place. There standards are way too low.

    Take-Out Lunch

I work on 44th and was looking for somewhere good to eat. My boss told be about Azusa's lunch special and now i eat it 2x a week or more. Depending on the day the special changes but it comes with soup/salas/california roll/2 meats and fruit for $10. It's a great deal. Lunch gets really busy so if you're doing take out it takes 10mins, so call ahead. I don't recommend it for a sit down lunch, service is pretty slow. Sushi isn't great. If you want good sushi go to 41st btw Madison and 5th...the sushi place next to Cafe Zaiya (not cafe Zaiya though, it's a mad house!)

    Great Lunch Spot

Went to this place for lunch. They have a great lunch special everyday! The place is pretty busy but the service is really fast. The sushi was ok but for the price it was great!!

    great and authentic cheap eats.

A couple of things were very telling when I stepped in for dinner. First of all nearly everyone dining here was Japanese, and almost none of them were ordering sushi. (I sat upstairs, there's a sushi bar downstairs where people probably were) If you are looking for exotic and high quality fish or trying to impress a date, this is probably not to place to do it. However, for other everyday japanese items like grilled skewers, rice dishes, and noodles, I was impressed by the quality, quantity, and the price.
