Delicious falafel
I've been there twice. Falafel was fresh, well spiced, delicious. The owner was very nice and polite both times I was there.

great falafels
I'm surprised this place isn't rated higher for food quality. One of the top falafels I've had in a long time. Very very fresh ingredients throughout and a great pita.

New Favorite Falafel Hands Down...
While I'm still a fan of Mamoun's, Azuri has now officially earned the top spot on my Favorite Falafel in the world list. (and I've had it served countless times on multiple continents) Perfect, affordable, delectable!

Impeccable
I discovered Azuri about three years ago, and I have not tasted better shwarma/schnitzel/falafel since. The food in this little restaurant is sublime. Whatever I have tasted, and by now I've worked my way down the menu, was excellent. Both the fried and grilled chicken just melt in your mouth; the shwarma is not just cut and served to you - it is seasoned and mixed with various spices before being put in the pita - which brings me to another excellent aspect 0f Azuri - I don't know where he gets his pita bread, but it is just amazing. All the soups are wonderful - the chicken matzah ball soup is great, but wait a bit for the soup to go through the matzah ball for a better taste. The baklava for the dessert was wonderful - it's best right after it comes from the oven. I continue to go to Azuri almost on a weekly basis and highly recommend you try it - you'll be hooked!

Excellent spot for a healthy lunch!
This place is excellent! There are not many good places this far west to stop in and get a quick, relatively healthy bite to eat without spending a fortune. The salads and falafel are excellent. The food is fresh and the staff is friendly. Highly recommended!

Without a doubt, the best in NYC, maybe the world
I can't say enough good things about Azuri. I live and work on the east side so I can't get to Azuri as much as I would like. I made the time to go last night and as always it was amazing. I went with my wife--we got the large fallafel platter which has so many salads, alot that I cant name, that are just perfect. The hummus, eggplant and fallafel are just ridiculous. We also got a chicken shnitzel pita. I dont think we left a crumb on our plates and took dessert to go. I recommend the platter over the pita because of all the salads and it comes with a pita on the side. I love the shnitzel. Azuri is close to my dentist so I always go after my appointments-it is the one thing that makes me look forward to going to the dentist.

Amazing food
Well i was raised in Dubai and moved to NYC, in 2001. I used to used shawarmas almost twice a week there, and never found any shawarma even remotely close to taste of Dubai, except for Mammouns in the village. So my friend forced me to go with him to Azuri, and i wasn;t looking forward to it. But the sandwich blew my mind away, i used to eat from Mammouns sometime now, but this sandwich i would definitely recommend to everyone. It was mad fresh, with some sauce , fresh salad and hummus which was awesome. The owner is not rude, he is just obsessed with his food taste, and gets upset if people don't finish their food, not because he is forceful like our parents, but he gets worried because he feels the customers didn't enjoy his food. Owner cares for all his customers, and wants everyone to enjoy his food. This restaurant is a must for all the shawarma lovers, and it's the best along with Mammouns.
