I agree with the last reviewer and had a similar experience. When we couldn't decide between 2 wines they graciously brought over both for us to try - there was enough for everyone to have a taste and we were a party of 8. The food is very good and each time I have been there it has been rather quiet, so getting good service was not a problem. Value for the dollar is good. Highly recommended.

I almost hesitate to write this review because I would rather keep this place a secret. It is the best Ethiopian food I have ever had. We went early in the evening and there was almost no one else there. Our waiter was extremely kind and attentive. When I ordered a certain kind of wine that they had run out of, he brought me other wines to taste. Then he went and found a wine similar to the one I had ordered. I definitely suggest sharing so you can try a variety of dishes, or sharing a combo. Everything is wonderful.

I have been a regular of Awash for a year and a half. I was in agreement with previous reviews of great food and lethargic service until my last visit a week ago. The food was wonderful as always, but I was in for the pleasent surprise of excellant attentive wait service. Hoping it wasn't a one-off, but even if it was- Awash is worth the wait.

The best meat combo in the world.

This was my first experience with ethiopian food and while I did find it tasty and different it wasn't really anything special. The service however was extraordinarily poor. Right from the start our waitress was rude. Then they took forever to even take our order and to add insult to injury the the food took even longer to arrive. Finally once we had finished eating we had to track down our waitress not one, not two, but three times and even then we had to go up to the bar to get our bill. This place really needs to get it's act together. Food was good, but the service left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yes very slow. The food is great, but you tend to feel somewhat violent by the time you get your food ordered and it finally arrives, which tends to put a damper on the evening.

Best ethiopian food I have had besides Addis in Boston (which reportedly is winnie mandela's favorite in the states!) Spicy, flavorful, tongue tantalizing!
