Until this experience, my family and I had been long time customers of Avra. In this case, I had called in an order to be picked up. When I arrived, I told the young lady at the hostess stand that I was there to pick up an order. She showed me the detailed check, and I immediately noticed that the Lamb dish I had ordered was $8 higher than what was advertised on the official Avra webiste. I politely mentioned this to her, and she then shared this error with one of the managers that was present at the time. This gentlemen was very apologetic, but did not offer to honor the price quoted on the official Avra webiste. I have been in the Hospitality Industry for 20 years, and he should have honored the official website price. What I found more offensive than that, was when the second manager came to me with the final C.C slip to sign, his demeanor gave me the impression that he did not approve of me. To top off this disappointing experience, the food was sub-par, and not a good value what so ever!

Average greek food so expensive that it seems that all the customers are from UN or the consulates... I guess I was the only one who paid the food myself.

When we go there the place was packed. We found out fast why...as the food is yummie..try it out. Went there for lunch with the girls. It's on the pricey side for lunch but worthy it ..totally. From appetizer to desert..we couldn't stop enjoying the food. Try their SPANAKOPITA, KOLOKITHI ,MANITARI ,KOTOPOULO, the Galactobourico and the Fig icecream....Mmmmmmmmm delicious

Went for dinner on a recent weeknight. The food was excellent: we started by splitting the taramosalata, melitzanosalata, and tzaziki, which were excellent and filling. We each then had a fish entree, both of which were imaginatively prepared, perfectly cooked, delicious, and "healthy." So far, so good. But-the place was packed, with tables close together, and the noise level was ridiculous. We were literally screaming to hear each other, and were exhausted by the time the dinner was over. Despite the delicious food, we left with great relief, and then had a bit of that deafness that one has after a really loud rock concert--ridiculous! Also, Avra is apparently a strong supporter of the current trend to have restaurants so dark you can hardly see what you're eating. So--the darkness would be romantic and the place would be great for an intimate tete-a-tete, as long as you didn't want to talk to each other. With earplugs and a flashlight, one could have an excellent time here. But as it is, we will not be returning.

Avra is great. It is beautifully decorated, chic and has a very nice outdoor patio that I love. All of thier appetizers are fabulous and they have an outstanding wine selection. Their entrees are amazing as well. Very fresh seafood dishes (try the shrimp!) I would definitely reccommend Avra to anyone who wants to experience authentic greek food that is a few steps above the rest.

I went with my boyfriend and his parents. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. We started with a few apps, which were all very good. And then we split the whole fish of the day. It was very light and seasoned nicely. We ended with greek yogurt with honey and walnuts and cherry syrup. It was excellent. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I would go again.
