Unbelievably bad service
The worst service I have had in my life. Took 30 minutes to get a salad when the place was empty, and waitress had a fit when I pointed out an error on our bill, and she started blaming me. I spoke to the manager, but he didn't seem to give a rats ass.

Our special little place
My boyfriend and I have eaten all over NYC - manhattan & bk anyway...And right around the corner from his house is our favorite place in the city. Aurum is our neighborhood delicacy. The owner and management are warm and welcoming and we have our favorite dishes there. His is the skirt steak (consistently delicious) - I eat his mashed potatoes. I always have the bowtie pasta w/mushrooms - a favorite. We've never had to contest with a crazy crowd and on one evening they had a belly dancer. They always have a delicious wine list which is my passion. I had to share my review of this place since it's so dear to us. I encourage people to try it - you won't disappointed.

Hidden Jewel of East Harlem!
I never write reviews, but I really needed to for this! Some friends of mine recomended going to Aurum for dinner one Thursday night. When I first heard East Harlem, I thought "the only place I heard of was Rao's" and I was a little worried about the food, atmosphere and location but I was game. WHAT A SURPRISE! The food was amazing- I still think about the goat cheese raviolli. The outside deck was so cool- I felt like I was in Europe. Love this place! I hope I can make it back. The only down side was that the waiter seemed a little confused and not the friendliest guy, but our food came out in reasonable time and all correct.

Love in spanish Harlem
I had the most amazing experience at this establishment. We were greeted well, seated immediately, and with out reservations accommodated are part of 10. The decor was beautiful, quaint, clean, and very authentic. The food was spell binding. Large delicious portions of exotic foods. All well seasoned and not one comlaint from the whole table. We loved the experience collectively. The appetizers were served in a timely fashion. The food took a little longer but was well worth the weight. The seasoning and culinary skill that went into creating this menu was amazing. I wanted to kiss the chef. The owner came and checked on us. Even offered the table a round on the house. We had an experience and who would have thought such a fine dinning establishment existed in Spanish Harlem. It felt very much like being in soho or little Italy. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, goergeous atmosphere and an experience you will talk about for the next couple of days. Lastly, it was on ground level so my grandmother who is wheelchair bound was able to participate. The bathroom was large enough to facilitate Myself, Grandmother and chair and my five year who couldn't hold it!

Amazing Mediteranean in the El Barrio!
Aurum is a great place and the food is amazing. The cozy decor makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. The Feta Cheese and Olives served before the meal are so good you can make a meal out of it alone. The wine list is resonable and offers a great variety. The owner is friendly and sits down with all his customers to make sure there having the most of there experience. I cant wait till it gets warm so I can sit in there outdoor graden a rareity in these parts. It truly is a spanish harlem hidden treasure
