Picked up a tuna avocado sandwich on the way to a class and it was great (the avocado was nothing to write home about). Next class I returned for the artichoke "chicken" sandwich and it was INCREDIBLE. I am not vegan, but I don't eat any non-kosher meat. This place was perfect. If they started using real, cut avocado the food would be 5 stars (I'd pay $0.25 extra for it). And for those complaining about the staff, they are some of the nicest I've encountered in the city. You simply have to talk to them to see what I mean. The man at the counter won't run over to you and ask if you want more napkins, but it's counter service! When you get up and ask for something, he will give it to you with a big, genuine smile. Also, you'll probably stare at the hundred or so sandwiches on the menu before you order, so I suggest looking at the menu here before arriving. Be prepared and get rewarded with a delicious sandwich and a smile.

I used to order from this place all the time, when I worked around the corner, and the food was always good, and arrived promptly. But this week I ordered breakfast from them, and it took over and hour and a half to arrive! I was told it was on its way after an hour, but it does not take 1/2 hour to walk the 10 blocks to my apartment. When the food arrived, it was of course cold and soggy. But also, there was about 1/2 as much salmon on the bagels as there ought to be (and I am being generous). Very disappointing, I will not be ordering from them again. :-(

I recently cut meat out of my diet and found that Atlas has a great selection of super tasty alternatives sandwiches! No bland, force-yourself-to-eat-it-because-it's-healthy vegetarian. I only ever get delivery but they are super friendly on the phone!

I love this place, I have been coming for years. It is tasty, healthy and easy on the wallet. My fav is the smoked salmon sandwich. Best spot in the summertime when they pull out the tables onto the sidewalk, you can take in some of the grit and charisma of the LES. I'm glad it's still standing despite the looming wholefoods, condos, and high rises P.S: les dweller why would you order a Cincinnati specialty in NYC? That's like going to Iowa for bagels *smh* you are going to be deeply disappointed.

I had been here a few times as a matter of convenience but the last time was the last. The food is nothing special and bland. How hard is it to mess up eggs? My friends had the specials from Cincinnati like goetta since she is from there and it was not correct. Nothing special- don't waste your money!

If you're vegan - or just looking for a super-yummy assortment of treats - this place is THE best. They have everything! Boston cream pie donuts, vegan Cinnabuns, cakes, cookies, brownies, woopie pies, soft serve, you name it. They also sell TONS of food-food - I personally think the vegan Moroccan chicken wrap and the unchicken salad sandwich are awesome. And the staff is usually super helpful and nice. Everyone I've ever brought here has really liked it. Oh, and they're open late if you ever need a drunken snack ;)

Well, I only ordered a salad and a sandwich and it has taken over an hour and twenty minutes to make the 10 blocks. After two calls, nothing changed. Make sure you order something cold and that you aren't already hungry when you order. The food was okay but won't order again.
