    never disappoints

this place is always delivers a quality seafood meal for a reasaonable price. the menu always has plenty of options on top of the specials and at the $26 range you really can't complain. service is yet to be a problem, aside from usually having to wait 10-15 minutes later than your reservation is for, but in NYC that's normal at most places. one thing to bear in minds is the house white, pinot grigio they charge $8 /glass can be bought in a liquor store for $6 or $7/bottle. But if you're looking for a good seafood place where with a bottle of wine you'll be well under $200/couple then look no further

    Overpriced

I took my wife here for her birthday. She had the lobster and I had shrimp/scallop entree. While the lobster and scallops were tasty, the shrimp were not. They were overseasoned and not worth the $25 I spent for the entree. Furthermore, the side dish was a mushroom couscous (same thing came with the lobster) that was bland and hardly what I would expect for the price. It is a very pleasant spot, particularly at the outdoor tables but my $175, including tip, could have bought more somewhere else I am sure.

    Don't Go for Brunch!

This is a great restaurant for fish but don't go for Brunch. Bad choices and bad food. You know, there's nothing as good as a newly fried potato and that's what they have..nothing like a newly fried potato. For a side dish on an omelet plate they put what tastes like week old refried potatoes. My egg white omelet was too much white and too little filling. My friend's crab meat omelet was heavy, heavy. I will never go there again for Brunch and advise you to do the same.

    sunset menu

Great time sitting outside on a late afternoon. All of the appetizers and sushi were amazing. Highly reccommend the Shrimp & Lobster Spring Roll, Sushi Taco Trio , and Maryland Crab & Crunchy Calamari Roll. Good Values on wne also. The restuarant was empty becuase of the time, but we received great service.

eh....edible but so many better places

First off, the place is packed and the waiters do not know how to handle crowds. We were seated as they were changing the table and still setting up. Also for every course, they couldn't get the orders straight and my guest and I had to keep switching plates. Not a big deal, but for the price you pay here, service should be flawless. For appetizer, I had the swordfish sushi roll and split pea soup. Both were excellent. For an entree, I had salmon with a mushroom sauce over risotto. The salmon was fresh and cooked correctly, but the sauce on it was lousy. It tasted like they drowned the fish in italian salad dressing. For dessert I had the ice cream/sorbet sampler which was also subpar. The dark chocolate ice cream was bitter, the strawberry was sour, and the coconut tasted too sugary. Dessert is my favorite part of the meal and I didn't eat more than a few spoonfuls. If I were to go back, it would be because friends want to try it. I would only order the sushi, but I would never go there just for the sushi. Haru is right next door and the sushi there is awesome.

    not returning

This place needs an electrostatic precipitator to get the oil out of the air. I can't breathe in there. My clothes and hair smelled by the time I was done. I have walked by and smelled this place when the windows are open and customers eat outside on the sidewalk. This is not new and the situation has existed for several years. How can one not notice? On top of that, the place is crowded, I can't hear my guest's conversation and I don't eat rare seafood - if you laugh at how I eat my seafood, then I will not pay for it when the bill comes. Critique vs tip?

    Fav on the UES

The Atlantic Grill is one of my favorite restaurants on the upper east. The food is always so delicious and fresh. The suschi rolls are amazing as well. It has a great upbeat atmosphere as well. The service is pretty good....but regardless the food is always fabulous!
